Atari-Jess #26 Posted March 13, 2007 Club Drive is the best game known to man. That is why I founded the Club Drive Fan Club so many years ago.

nester #30 Posted March 14, 2007 It seems like I've had this topic before. Club Drive is not only lousy but it's also the first Jaguar game I've ever played. It doesn't have the imfamous reputation of certain other Jaguar games so I somewhat higher expectations. I have to say that it disapointed me on every level. I wrote an essay about it on my blog even. I have to say though, White Men Can't Jump is even worse. I don't know how they thought they were ever going to get away with that one. G7000 #31 Posted March 16, 2007 (edited) I picked up Club Drive cheap secondhand but I was still shocked when the title screen appeared and music started playing. I actually wondered at that point if the game was built using Microsoft PowerPoint! My first Jag experiences were Cybermorph and T2K so Club Drive was a bit of a come down. But hey, with so many years gone by I'm a bit more relaxed about it and play it for purely comedic value. I mean that crazy 'jazz' music *performs muppet dance around room* Powerballs "ALRIGHT!!!" smashalley #33 Posted April 19, 2007 Sure, Club Drive could have been a lot better but the worst thing wasn't the game itself. It was the fact that it was being sold new for $40-50 at one point. Such is the case with a lot of bad games because the less you pay for them, the better they sometimes become. My copy of Club Drive was less than 10 bucks. Atariman #34 Posted April 19, 2007 OOOOOOH...I hate that sound!!!(too much Yosemite Sam as a child i suppose.) Don't you mean "OOOOOOH!... I hates that sound!!!" When I really think about Club Drive, I guess I realize that it really winds up being a matter of what you expected from the game. Is it a good racing game? Not really. You might get a little bit of fun out of it playing it two player, but one player mode is a real stinker. Is it fun to just screw around in the game? Yes (at least I thought so back when I got it). The level with a ramp on the one side of the wall (and a bunch of other ramps, etc all over it) can be kind of fun. My friends and I used to park one car far away from the ramp - sort of as the "camera man" - and then take the other car and see how far we could make the other car spin and fly off the ramp against the wall. (We were always impressed at how high up that we could make that car soar) My friends and I also enjoyed the ability to play tag (despite the annoying "you're it" voice (more like "yoit!")). We would race every so often, but the tracks weren't impressive. The one track that I really did enjoy in one player mode was one mentioned above - the San Francisco track impressed me at the time. It was pretty large and I spent a decent amount of time just seeing what I could do. I would try to ram the trolley that would drive around on the level, fling my car off of cliffs, drive around on the beach, or whatever. Did it keep me occupied for hours and hours on end? No, but I don't feel like I got screwed out of the $14 I paid for it. While I don't think that Club Drive is a "killer app", I certainly don't think it deserves the bad rep that it seems to have - as mentioned previously by a few (including myself), you really could do much, much worse than pick up a copy of Club Drive (hey, it's no Sneak 'n Peek ) It's all about the two player modes. While I don't think that Club Drive is a "killer app", I Sure you can call it a "killer app", as in an app that helped kill the Jaguar.
