Cobra Commander #1 Posted March 13, 2007 I saw what appeared to be a RF TV adapter for the Sega Game Gear, maybe it was AM/FM or both. I saw last week at a the Sanford, FL flea market. Anyone know anything about rarity? I didnt get a good look, probably analog tuning, and staticy. Oh well, had to pass on it already blew my budget 'fore I saw it. RickHarrisMaine #2 Posted March 13, 2007 I thought that was about the only good thing about the Game Gear, myself. Thought it worked fine, though I'm in the city (well, "city" being Portland, Maine...) and I got several stations. Kind of fun to watch SNL in bed on the thing. They go for about $30-$35 I think. AtariJr #3 Posted March 13, 2007 ive never seen one in a store.. so id consider it rare.. i always wanted one when i had a gamegear, but i coudlnt find one. i ended up selling my gear.. i hardly play handhelds, only one that gets play time is the DS and thats not much these days with the wii here and getting even more games for my Saturn. Cobra Commander #4 Posted March 13, 2007 It would be cool to hack a "F" connector into it, and hook up a VCS for kicks.
Video #5 Posted March 13, 2007 I believe it does have an antina port, and you can get a coax adaptor for that, and then the RCA to coax adaptor for that Then you could play your Atari on the GameGEar. That would be coo (I've done this with my GBA, and my X0Box

LS_Dracon #8 Posted March 13, 2007 (edited) If you looking for a very rare item for GG, search about Master System Conversor, for play SMS games in your game gear. I dont' have this, I have a sms conversor for sega genesis (I kind of 32x, but downgrade to sms ) GG is a battery killer, if you buy a tv turner, is a good idea get one 9v. AC power. Other pics of my little game gear colection : Edited March 13, 2007 by LS_Dracon
Chickybaby #9 Posted March 13, 2007 There's an FM tuner as well as the TV and Master Gear adapter. We love ours when there's time and plugs that work on a Nomad work on a a GG.
PressureCooker2600 #10 Posted March 14, 2007 I have the SMS converter for the GG....I like it alot.
Video #11 Posted March 14, 2007 I do too, as I've never seen a working Master System (except back in the day, I saw one) The MAster Ger for GG is actually the way I've played all my Master System games. To bad it has no card slot.
Cobra Commander #12 Posted March 15, 2007 I totaly dig all my sega stuff Its my fav next to Atari.
shadow460 #13 Posted March 15, 2007 Well, it's easy enough to feed the Game Gear's appetite with half a dozen NiMH batteries and a halfway decent charger for them. There's no reason the 'Gear should be known as a battery killer anymore. I priced both the Master Gear and the TV tuner last year. the TV tuner was roughly $50 on ebay, and the Master Gear was about $20. I've never seen either one outside of pictures. Video #14 Posted March 15, 2007 I'd second those NiMH, they give you what? Four times the Alkaline power? So isntead of 3 hours or so on a charge, you get 10-12 or so? Been a while since I played one. Oh, I was going to say you should get a Master Gear Shadow, but I think many of the games for Master System (that are easily playable) are already ported to the Gear... shadow460 #15 Posted March 16, 2007 I've been keeping my eyes open for a Master Gear in the wild.
sega2006 #16 Posted March 22, 2007 A Local Market stall has a few tuners, I intend to get one at some point when my budget allows and a shop starts selling decent batterys for cheap as Battery life of a Game Gear is not too dissimlar to that of a Friut fly
sega2006 #17 Posted April 3, 2007 Just Brought the Tv tuner and its kinda cool, I can only get 5 channels If Im lucky. Not bad for £8.
