will an australian cart work on a ntsc atari?

No, U.S. and Canada and some South American stuff will work on U.S. Consoles but not Stuff made for pal systems! The screen will roll!

Not 100% guaranteed. On some TVs, you can fix the rolling by adjusting the V-hold. I've got a 1976 Mitsubishi TV that doesn't even need that. It's an NTSC TV, but it can handle most PAL 2600 games without rolling, and without adjusting anything.

 

Even if you manage to get a non-rolling picture, the colors will still be wrong. The game should still be playable, though.

 

Also, if you've got a TV capture card in your PC, it should support PAL, so you could play the game that way (display it on your PC monitor). In that case, the colors will be correct (I guess for PAL, you have to call them "colours").

 

How much is this PAL HERO cart? $5? More? Loose or boxed? I'd take a chance on it, myself. Even if you never get it working, it'll be an interesting piece for your collection... or you could trade it for something else.

My Multi-Region TV works fine with both PAL and NTSC games for some reason. I think it has to do with that multi word thingamabob, but I'm not sure.

Thats cool would love to have a multiregion tv........ I love my hacked multi region dvd player. I bought it purposely because i found out the hack for it. Spent about $29.99 on Amazon and all i had to do was hit a zero in on the menu and my U.S. and Canada region player plays every dvd there is including all computer files and such! Sometimes the cheaper things are the better things...........Sometimes!!!!

Well, I did get a USA NTSC atari game off ebay, and I played it on my Atari 2600 jr console.

I'm in Australia and I got the ntsc format to work on my one, it has the ntsc palette but it runs in a PAL resolution.

 

anyways. If you got a NTSC console, Try and insert the H.E.R.O game in, and see what happens.

If it doesn't work. then you should considering getting one that comes from your end of the country
