Red 5 #1 Posted March 15, 2007 For a system that is basically half a generation behind the original XBOX, I am impressed. The graphics are still nowhere near current gen, but it is by far the best ever on the PS2. I loved the first GOW and after playing through only the first 4 or 5 check points last night I am completely hooked again. Looks like the 360 will be taking a well deserved rest for a week or two. As for the Wii, since I beat Zelda it has been acting as a lovely doorstop that occasionally tells me the weather. Anyway! As an added bonus, it's twice as fun to play GOW2 after watching 300. Like playing Rainbow 6 Vegas after a good episode of 24.
ewing92 #2 Posted March 15, 2007 i dont htink that it would be the best graphics on teh ps2, as i dont think anything can beat the big cutscenes in Final Fantasy X, I still havent seen anything on the next-gen consoles that have those good of graphics, well maybe a couple games, but still, for being the ps2, WOW, FF10 is amazing. lol, anyways back to topic, ya know, i still havent played God of War one, yup i really need to buy it, i will look on ebay sometime, no scratch that, ebayis gay, lol i will go to amazon . EricDeLee #5 Posted March 16, 2007 I'd have to say that the graphics seem better than Resident Evil 4. I spent a good amount of time with that game, and this one. the cut scenes thus far (in GoW2) are amazing. One complaint: They generally make a seamless entry into a cut scene. It is a very smooth transaction from gameplay to cutscene. However... not the same effect when you are coming out of the cut scene. I wish they had smoothed that trasition better. But... like I said... so far it is a great game with wonderful graphics. My girlfriend likes it better than the movie 300. She didn't like that movie all too well. Maybe she's coming down with the flu or something. LOL
EricDeLee #6 Posted March 16, 2007 Oh... and I was going to post something about this yesterday as my girlfriend got it for me yesterday for my birthday. She had another run-in with a$$hole Gamestop employees. They placed their copies of God of War 2 on the shelves on Tuesday. Now... if I am not mistaken... the release date is TUESDAY the 13th of March. At least that is what I'm seeing online. Well... she picked up a copy and was getting ready to pay for it. Then they asked if she reserved the game. She didn't. He said that he can not sell her the game, it is only for those that reserved it. So she asked why they were on the shelf. He said they came in early. However the release date is not until 14 March. If you had reserved it, he'd sell it to you though on the 13th. Bullshit if you ask me. Apparently she bitched about it and the manager went out to the shelf and yanked all of them off of the shelf. He was being an a$$ the whole time he did it as well. Then the clerk looked at my girlfriend and said best buy may have them. So... my lady went elsewhere. Why do Gamestop employees believe they are above all????? SOME of these guys are really jerks. Red 5 #7 Posted March 16, 2007 I am going to have to agree that the cut scenes look better than Resident Evil 4 or any Final Fantasy game. I am much farther now, and am still completely in awe of how good it looks... and how freakin' fun it is.
EricDeLee #8 Posted March 16, 2007 My girlfriend was sitting there and watching me play. She normally won't watch, but it has been pure entertainment for her. She's enjoyed it. She won't play though, as the controller has more than one button. Anything more than one button... and she refuses to play. She loves playing games like Spider Fighter and Kaboom when I have the Atari hooked up. She kicks my rearend every single time.
dalton4life #9 Posted March 22, 2007 I'm playing God of War 2 and the game is great! Yes I will say graphics as a whole look better than anything I've seen on PS2 so far and I do have FFX and RE4 to comepare. In fact most of the cutscenes at least rival anything I've seen on Xbox 360. BTW, my 360 is going to get getting a well deserved rest for a at least a couple of weeks too. EricDeLee #10 Posted March 27, 2007 Okay... I finished the game this morning with a cup of coffee. Great great game. However... I wish it were longer. To be honest with you, it seems as though the entire game was perhaps what should be the halfway mark for other games. It just didn't seem long enough. I beat it on wimpy mode and will look at it again soon as I didn't find a few items (mainly those urns). But I was very impressed with this and even though the dude who made the game says the PSP version sucks... I'll still buy that one as well. The graphics at the end are some of the best I have ever seen. It even rivals some of the graphics I've seen on the PS3 and the 360. It is a lot beeter than any cutscene I saw in RE4
ewing92 #11 Posted March 27, 2007 okay about graphics, i watched a cutscene from God of War 2 on Youtube and i have come to the conclusion that the graphics are as good as FFX, i see they have really pushed this game to the ps2's limits, just as FFX did. I do think though, that FFX is a little better graphics wise, but that is just my opinion shining through, but truthfully i think they are equal, as for RE4 i think tbis games graphics are better.
