TimsterAA #3 Posted April 1, 2007 I already have and use my own homegrown spreadsheet, so thanks for the offer. However - to make it available to others, you should be able to do the following: When creating a post, underneath the window you type in will be some "Post Options", and underneath those you'll see a "File Attachments" section. Click the browse button, and locate the spreadsheet on your computer. Once found, either doubleclick it, or select it and click the 'OPEN' button. Then click "Add This Attachment" next to the browse button. Once uploaded, the screen will refresh, and you see a new box underneath the "File Attachments" section, listing the attachment you added. You can add as many as you want as described above, and each one will then appear in this new box. For each attachment added, you have the option to "Remove" or "Add into Post". Simply place the cursor in your message box where you want the attachment to be, then click the "Add into Post" button. And - voila - you're done. Then you can post the message to the thread, and your file should be available for people to download. Good luck! --Timster--
Ze_ro #4 Posted April 2, 2007 The forum only allows you to post files with specific extensions though... .xls files won't work. However, if you zip the file, you can post the .zip instead. --Zero
JB #5 Posted April 2, 2007 Why not use, like... a database for your game database?
Video #6 Posted April 2, 2007 I don't know anything about Excell, and certinly not Spreadsheets. And the few games I remember wer Pac-man, I think Lemmings, and if I remember right, something sort of like Wolfenstein or something. Kinda cool, but seems a little inconvienant when you can play the games off the legit discs without haveing excell anyways

Databases and spreadsheets are different beasts.
Video #9 Posted April 4, 2007 Oh, a blanks spreadsheet to keep track of your games. I could use one of those. Does it also keep track of your systems? (what games for what systems, etc) I've been looking for something like this, but all I ever get when I ask is online options. I'm wanting it for my personal use, not to put my collection online. BTW, I would have to have Excel to use this, right? (I'm not sure if I do or not, but I never installed all my stuff when I put my programs on the computer anyways, so I probably have one aorund here somehwere. Video #11 Posted April 7, 2007 Well, eh... Apparently I don't have Excel WTF? Anyhow, that kinda sucks. And then my computer said "poot" and lost the connection, so I said feck it. Anyhow, Today I actually got back into the email and downloaded it, and just clicked on it. Apparently I do have Excel somewhere on my computer, as it poped up and ran. It's really small, only about 100k, and works pretty cool. It's got aa lot of systems, but is missing a few, and I don't know how to edit the systems thingy, but Microvision, Virtual Boy, Wonder Swan, and game.com were missing. I haven't really put it through the paces yet, as most my crap is in storage, so I don't have any Idea what I actually DO have, but when I get it out, I'll definately be using this a LOT. The ones there, you click on a system, go to a screen just for that system, and you can put in how many games you got, it's name, date, who made it, box dox, etc. So it's pretty awesome in that reguard. Now I just gotta get my computer fixxed so I can slam it on there. Awesome program, the only thing I might add is a console spacific listing (like for those of us whit multiple 2600's and different models, etc) Again, Awesome program dude, only question I got is, How do I add a new system? I did just try typing it in at the bottome (but the heavy boarder line, and I probably sound like a dumbass, won't stretch over it) Eh, but as I said, I don't really know, well, anything about spreadsheets and Excel. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks a bunch! To add in more systems at the bottom of the screen just use your right mouse button and hti insert double click the new sheet and rename it whatever console you want to add. then comes the hard part. you need to go to the totals page and add the new systems in there as well. after you have put in your new system you need to make a hyperlink from that system name to the page of the system for the games. easy really. if you like i can help more if your send me a pm. thanks, ace glad someone out there is making use of the spreadsheet i use. i only made the sheet for the consoles that i collect for.
