riffraff #1 Posted March 17, 2007 (edited) I decided to try Thrust+, a game I got at the 2002 CGE and it doesn't seem to want to go into the 2600 slot. Any suggestions? Edited March 17, 2007 by riffraff

Thomas Jentzsch #3 Posted March 17, 2007 Never heard about such a problem with Thrust.
Emehr #4 Posted March 17, 2007 I have that problem with my Gunfight cart. The problem with mine is the PCB isn't lining up with the cart's dust cover slot so I have to push in the dust cover manually so the contacts are showing (wiggling the PCB so it clears the dust cover slot), squeeze the cartridge enough so the cover doesn't snap closed, and insert it in the console. riffraff #5 Posted March 17, 2007 Ok I had to jam some item into the holes to open the dust cover, then slide the dust cover all the way down.. then success! Thanks
Thomas Jentzsch #6 Posted March 17, 2007 That's good news. I hope you like the game.

Mayhem #8 Posted March 17, 2007 I've had a fiddle a few of the dust cover 2600 carts to fit properly on my 7800 in the past.

Yeah, unfortunately that's a problem sometimes with carts using the dust cover mechanism. Most are fine, but sometimes one will be stubborn and require a bit more "finesse" to insert into a system. This also depends on the actual system being used. ..Al
Chris++ #10 Posted March 19, 2007 You got it in 2002 and you`re just now playing it?
Albert #11 Posted March 19, 2007 You got it in 2002 and you`re just now playing it? That is interesting. ..Al
Cybergoth #12 Posted March 19, 2007 You got it in 2002 and you`re just now playing it? Uh... almost the same here. I played it once or twice, but need yet to give it some serious playtime. I know I'm dead slow on things, it took 20+ years until I beat H.E.R.O. for example. But the time for Thrust will definitely come. Maybe once when I'm done with Secret Quest
riffraff #13 Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) You got it in 2002 and you`re just now playing it? Yep.. I wasn't really actively "collecting" when the CGE came to vegas.. but a friend was in town and got me to go to it, and once there of course I was amazed at the homebrews and other stuff ppl were selling (got the foot pedal, 2 Snow Whites repros, and a bunch of other stuff that got thrown into a box and put into the "storage" room). I just recently hooked up my 2600 again, opened the box and started having fun with the stuff. I plugged in Mr. Roboto and couldn't figure out what was different from Berzerk.. until I had this song playing in my head the rest of the day =) Also won Malagai in the auction there, still have yet to look at it. Thrust really is an excellent game for the 2600. I'd give it a 10/10. Now if I can get motivated to hook up a 5200 and check out Haunted House II... Cybergoth #15 Posted March 20, 2007 And maybe you can report your progress here too. I definitely will (Actually I'm waiting for the next "Beat Thrust" contest )
bjk7382 #16 Posted March 20, 2007 I believe the next "beat thrust" contest is up to Happy Dude. I won the first contest, and got a free game. Then I hosted the 2nd contest and offered a free game, which Happy Dude won. He said he would continue the trend at some point, but I don't think he has been posting much lately (like myself)

Thomas Jentzsch #18 Posted March 22, 2007 There's an ending, right? Has anyone gotten to it? Yup. At least two people did. First was bjk7382 (and there is a video of this available, though without the end) and next was Happy_Dude. Who will be the next?

Who will be the next? icon_confused.gif Not me, your game kicks my ass. Actually I need to get a foot pedal and try it with the driving controller. It's great fun, and the graphics are amazing, but it's damned hard core. I really should knuckle down and try to beat it.
