I now see that I am going to need to build a custom controller box with two pots at 90 degrees and two fire buttons.  Just for your game!!

What do you mean by "at 90 degrees"? Is the control of the game easier if you turn one of the paddles 90 degrees clockwise (CCW?) from the other? Also, are both buttons necessary, or will either one suffice?

90 degrees as in one vertical and one horizontal.

Funny, they all seem to have the very same layout worldwide. :ponder:

 

Historically too .. I have a Labyrinth that is 60 years old .. and it has the exact maze. It belonged to my grandfather .. and I played it alot as a kid.

Yes! I have done some internet research and the original game is made by the swedish company Brio since the 1940s.

 

Several clones have been produced, some with different layouts:

and even an OpenGL version is available.
