Headfamily
But both high bidders are established on ebay too, weird. Makes me think about the ds lite I got with 8 games and psp with 4 games yestarday for 250 was an awesome deal. lol Thats make four ds and three psp's for me, my wife, and our 18 month old daughter. lemoncurry
But both high bidders are established on ebay too, weird. Oh, believe me, they had their accounts hijacked, the scammers are bidding outrageous amounts on lots of things so they can send bogus money orders for even more and ask for the difference refunded: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View...=250&sort=
homerwannabee
This seems to be increasing at an alarming rate. If Ebay keeps ignoring this problem, they are going to have a huge problem on their hands that will cost them billions of dollars.
lemoncurry
The main problem is gullible eBayers responding to phishing emails... Apparently my link above no longer shows the problem, they must have erased all the auctions the scammer bid on... And the poor sap who was hijacked now has 7 negs to deal with! And looking at them, apparently this guy's con was sending fake PayPal payment emails... Edited March 26, 2007 by lemoncurry
tiggerthehun
That's not good... How/why does this work? How do you avoid it as a seller? Cancel outrageous bids?
TimsterAA
People should start using IE7... I catch phishing e-mails on my own 99% of the time, except an eBay one once, but I immediately realized what I'd done - and smacked myself upside the head - and changed my eBay password right then and there! But IE7 intercepts phishers and won't even display the webpage - just a big fat warning that it's a phishing site. Yay for M$ for actually doing something useful and helpful for once! --Timster--
