Finally got a boxed Fun with Numbers!

Recommended Posts

Hooray! This was the last "colorful" Atari boxed title I needed. :D

This was the only auction I have seen one in since I began collecting over a year ago. Why is this title so rare?

I didn't really know it was that rare! I don't have it yet but i figured it to be pretty common but it must be like some of those Sears pic label ones or something......I thought u got a pretty good deal until i looked at the shipping charges. Almost $70? Wow! Donkey Kong Junior complete is a kind of tougher find.

You made out like a Bandit in that auction. Forget the Fun with Numbers. There were 49 boxed games in that lot. That sucker should of sold for atleast $150 even if you did not include the Fun with Numbers.

Congrats, that is a really hard to find game, boxed.

Now find the grey one. :D :P

Funny thing is, I have the grey re-release but not the normal color box release!

Hey cpu, whats the difference in price-rarity, for the grey box verses the color one. I passed on a grey one a year ago MIB for $3, along with about 15 other mib games that were $3 each i didnt have the money for. I read a post that night about fun with numbers being hard to find, the next day i borrowed $5 from my sister and went back to get it and out of the 15 boxed games it was the only one gone, he said someone bought it several hours earlier!! I missed out huh??

Actually, the shipping for me was only $45 (must be based on destination). Not too bad for this much stuff and a boxed Fun with Numbers!! :)

Thanks all. It really felt like a good deal. I have been looking for this title a while and have never seen it even offered boxed on eBay at any price. Basic Math was tough to get as well, but I eventually got that in both the gatefold and non-gatefold versions.

The regular box was in a lot of 14 and was titled "Atari 2600 Games". In the auction no game names were actually typed, just a picture. So a search of Basic Math would not have come up with this listing. Also, there was no gallery view. It was just dumb luck to find it while I had nothing better to do than search through the hundreds of Atari listings. I got that lot for less than $20 including shipping.

Admittedly, these games are not the most fun to play. I figure they are rare because sales were poor and therefore Atari didn't make many of them? But if this is true I wonder why they bothered with re-releasing it later in grey. :ponder:

To be safe in the future I would wait till you had the title in your hands due to people messing with you score from ebay. I looked over that auction before it ended and the shipping was to high. Second alot of those boxes looked beat up and without a clear picture I passed. I hope it turns out to be mint, but next time wait till you get your stuff so some asshole does not make a side deal right under you with the seller.

I think the normal color box release is the hardest to find. I've had a couple of the grey box ones, and I've personally seen more of the grey boxes than the color boxes on ebay.

I'm down to needing my last variation of Basic Math, finally picking up a gatefold Sears Math. Just need the non-gatefold Sears Math and I'm done with those.

I was watching this auction too. Shipping kept me away, but I had my eye on it. Both FWN & DKJR are tough ones to find even on ebay. But the most of that lot is dirt common.

There isn't a non-gatefold Sears Math.

You're done.

The Rarity Guide is missing scans of the color Fun With Numbers box and manual. Are you able and willing to accomodate?
