What to do with my SLM804

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Perhaps ten years ago I was given an Atari SLM804 laser printer to use with my 1040ste. it worked but smudged slightly. When I tried it again a year or so later, it smudged allot and I have not tried it since.

So now I would like to get rid of it. Should I throw it away or do you have a better idea?

Contact Best Elextronics or B&C for help/parts. Would be a shame to throw it away. Wish I could find one to play with...

Always wanted an Atari Laser / Publishing setup.... would have been fun to use some of the foil transfers and such to do something artsy maybe....

I used to have two, actually used them as well. It was fun firing them up, the whole town seemed to black-out by the power needed for the 804.

Had to dump them due to space needed for moving from UK to DE.

Nowadays you can pick up SLM804s on German ebay for little money, here's one for $1.50:

Too late folks.

Adam got it.

Thanks again Don. It was great meeting you and talking old Atari!! Once I get the toner and drum stuff from Jay Smith, I will fire it up and give it a workout!! Think I'll try it with my TT.
