moycon #26 Posted June 4, 2007 (edited) Most accurate review I've seen was basically this. "Early on, you'll find a gas station full of bad guys. If you instinctively unleash lightning on the station and raze it to the ground, you'll probably have a lot of fun with the rest of the game. If you start shooting at stuff, this game probably isn't for you." Here's the thing...There's no instinct involved. A red aura and a booming voice in your head more or less TELLS you to hit the gas station with lighting!! LOL The game has to tell you when it's OK to have fun!!?? If that's what your saying, then yeah....that's accurate alright. Edited June 4, 2007 by moycon

I saw the subtle instruction to blast the gas station with lightning in the same light as the "don't attack the monster while it's in its shell!" which you see in Final Fantasy games. It's there to get you used to the game. It could be worse. It could have popped up a tutorial which took 30 minutes to press through (as way too many RPGs do when introducing minigames which no one wants to play in the first place). I think the biggest mistake was that they restricted your magic at the start of the game. They really should have just allowed you to use all of it, and made the first level the magic testing zone (along with a method to turn the tutorial bits off). The big difference with FF and this game is that FF can take 50 or 60+ hours to play, Bullet Witch takes all of 5 or 6 hours to get through. You are right, good thing they didnt take up 30 minutes with a tutorial in this game or 1/10 of the game would be tutorial., Really if you look at it, and the fact that there are several times that voice tells you to use your magic, and it's usually within a minute after getting the magic....The whole game might be a tutorial. raindog151 #29 Posted June 5, 2007 Well, BB had it for 40$ today, so I picked up that and Tony Hawk : AW for 10$. Just beat the first level. I wish it had more of a radar type interface, but I'm liking it so far. I spent the odd 240 points I had left downloading all the addons. I dunno, I'm really enjoying the odd games like this and EDF. But if I ever make a game, the title screen will say "Please have fun... NOW!"
Video #31 Posted February 12, 2009 My friend bought got this game recently, but can't figure out how to access the Concept Mission option (for the downloable missions). Unfortunately, he got a used copy from GameStop and it didn't have the instruction manuel. But, he did happen to find a copy (not completed) of the manuel from replacementdocs.com. It said that certain conditions have been fulfilled. What are the conditions that need to be fulfilled? I'm guessing that he has to beat the game or something, right? Video #33 Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks, Gabriel. Do you have to just beat the game on any difficulty setting or do you have to beat it on a certain difficulty setting before the Concept Mission option becomes available? Thanks again.
Gabriel #34 Posted February 13, 2009 You can beat it on any difficulty setting to unlock concept missions.
