Gabriel #1 Posted April 3, 2007 As the owner of all the most recent consoles, I figured it might be an interesting thread to see what everyone is actually playing. My most played console is my X360. However, except for my recent rental of Bullet Witch, I haven't been playing disc games on it for a while. Most of the time, I play one of my 18 or so arcade games. Jetpac Refueled is my current favorite. Recently I played a little Time Pilot, and I like giving Geometry Wars Evolved a spin whenever I can. Of the games I haven't been playing but would really like to, the candidates are Enchanted Arms, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and either Samurai Warriors 2 or Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires. Next is the PS3. I don't own any PS3 disc games for it yet. I have bought the downloads of Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Q-Bert, and Blast Factor. Tekken gets played at least once a week for around 20 battles against a friend. Blast Factor and Q-Bert get played now and again when I'm home for lunch, or have the system powered up to check the Playstation Store. Q-Bert gets played a bit more frequently of late than Blast Factor does. In terms of backwards compatibility, Lumines Plus and Soul Calibur 3 are the current faves. I've really become bored with the Wii. I powered it up when RotK3 was available to download, but didn't bother buying the SNES download, and haven't had the urge to turn the system on since. When I first got it, my friends and I played quite a bit of bowling and tennis. The entertainment value of that wore off quickly and I ended up playing virtual console games more, specifically Mario Bros and Soldier Blade. I play my PSP often enough. Most of the time, I keep one of the classics discs in it. I rotate between Midway, Namco, and Genesis Collection. More recently, I've played Namco and Genesis Collection more heavily, with a focus on Astro Blaster, Phantasy Star II, the various Pac-Man games, and Rally X Arrangement. The other day, I had brought my PSP to work, and there was a tornado warning which caused me to be stuck in the building waiting it out. During that time, I played my new After Burner game for a good, quality hour. The game I most want to get back to is Field Commander. Plus, I have half a dozen RPGs I want to play. And, to finish off, there's the DS. A few weeks ago I was playing the GBA FF6 on it. I also got Portrait of Ruin, and that was pretty interesting. Of course, the other day I got Steel Horizon and tried that for a bit. I honestly don't frequently have the urge to play this system. It spends most of it's time in a box. If I had more time, I'd probably play the various Final Fantasy games some more.
Atarifever #2 Posted April 3, 2007 DS: Animal Crossing and Nanostray. Mainly Nanostray. It is perfect. Wii: NOTHING! There aren't any stores in this town, or for 200km in either direction, that sell games, and buying online plus shipping on a new game is too much. Also, Nintendo won't let me buy Wii points online through the computer, and I don't trust that the Wii Wi-fi system is secure enough yet to buy Wii points on the Wii, so I have to wait for a point card I ordered online before I can even buy VC games. Meanwhile, I spend all kinds of time tinkering with the online stuff for it, but no time actually playing it. That's really sad too, considering how much I want to play the new Sonic and Tiger Woods games. Truth be told, right now I'm mostly playing Double Dragon 7800. Lord Helmet #3 Posted April 3, 2007 (edited) Well, my 360 is dead...so I'm not playing anything on that right now. Really nothing out there I want for the Wii right now. Played Guitar Hero 2 over the weekend on my PS2 since the 360 is dead. DS: nothing...just finished Elite Beat Agents. I'm gonna pick up a new 360 game or 2 as soon as I get mine back from MS...until then, I'll probably just play classic systems. Edit: Ha! I just remembered that I haven't broken the shrinkwrap on FF XII that I got back around xmas...so I guess its time to tackle that one Edited April 3, 2007 by Lord Helmet

Malc74 #8 Posted April 4, 2007 Of the "current gen" systems I only own the Wii and DS (I'm not a Nintendo fanboy, I'm just poor). I haven't really been near the Wii lately, I've been trying my damndest to get into Twilight Princess but it's just not happening at the moment - I really need to get back to playing Excite Truck, because it's a cracking game. As for the DS, I've gone on a crazy buying spree (for me) lately. At the moment I'm spending a lot of time with Konami Arcade Classics, interspersed with goes on Zoo Keeper, Polarium, Hotel Dusk and the awesome Nanostray. Apart from that, I've been going back through a lot of my old XBox games again - I've replayed Half Life 2, finally completed Oddworld: Strangers Wrath and am currently playing through GTA: SA with the odd game of Xyanide. Next purchase will undoubtedly be Raiden III for the PS2, when the bastards finally (FINALLY!) release the bloody thing over here in a couple of weeks. moycon #10 Posted April 4, 2007 Have been switching between a bunch of games lately. Shivering Isles Crackdown Marvel Ultimate Alliance and for some reason Bejeweled 2 Those have been getting the most play. I also started Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the DS
Video #11 Posted April 4, 2007 None, Cuase at the moment, I own no next gen systems. PSP, didn't like the randome disc eject, and the uber flimsy feel of it, pluss I'll never really like aportable disc player (comeon, I can get a 2GB memory card for $30, I'm NOT paying $30+ for a easily damaged disc that holds less data) Sold soon after (too soon probably, since now you can play PSX games on it, and it now emulates just about everything) Now that the price has dropped, I'm thinking of getting one again, for emus on the go if nothing else. DS, well, I liked Advance Wars, but mostly the system was a gemmic, and that was CLEARLY reflected in most of the games. (yes, the fanboys will bash me for that) The third time I sold it, I decided to finely get rid of all the games too, so I no longer have anything for it. If they drop it to $100 even, I might be tempted to get one and get a new copy of Advance Wars again. PS3, uh....NO. WAY to expensive. If I was going to pay this kind of money, it would make scense to buy something more useful, like a replacement computer to replace my current one. (not to mention, if I threw that much money into a computer, it would destroy the PS3 in every way anyways) X-Box 360, probably the most interested in, but it's really a Tie between the Wii and 360. Problem, I only really want two games for it. Halo 3 (hey, I like mindless run and gun FPS games, sue me ) Which at this point, would not surprise me in the least if it never came out on the 360 and was pushed as a release game on the 720 instead ANd Oblivion, which is on the 360, PS3, AND the next computer I get WILL easily run it, so it's not exclusive or anything. Wii, well, I look at the DS and saw a bunch of great games ruined by the gimmic touch screen, and have to wonder if that's the case with the wii. (again, watch the fanboys come running) I'm interested, but untill somebody gets one around here so I can have some real first hand experiance with one, I'm a little uneasy about putting money into something I may like at first and then ignore after the novelty wears off, After all, it's a bad enough blow to spend $50 on a game and find you'll never play it.... I think my Biggest problem is...well, I like old style games. And between consoles from the 2600, to the GBA, I pretty much have every game style I could want. Maybe I'm just an old geezer and this shits all leaving me behind

NE146 #17 Posted April 5, 2007 I've been playing the DS the most. The 360 2nd (generally playing Robotron) 3rd is probably the PSP. Next is probably the PS2. I barely turn on my Wii at the moment ever since I finished Zelda. I don't have a PS3 yet. The xbox is used a lot, but basically for streaming videos. And of course the 2600 & 5200 are eternal
Steril707 #18 Posted April 5, 2007 I play some Wii at the moment, mostly Wii Sports, sometimes a little bit of VC stuff like Mario Kart 64 and Mario 64, which makes my head hurt... hmmm Untill a month ago i played a lot of SNES, mostly Yoshis Island and Super Mario World...So i hope for Super Paper Mario to kick ass... I bought Pikmin and Metroid for the Gamecube part of my Wii. Pikmin is very nice at the beginning, but gets quite boring later on...its too short... And Metroid is something i dont understand, really...Especially the hype surrounding it. I mean, why should I play a FPS like that? I have been into Quake since day one on my PC, and i really dont get into gamepads for playing this gamestyle. And, this game adds really nothing new. Even Quake 1 had more interesting puzzles, and, more athmossphere... The rest is emulators, me and my girlfriend like playing Ladybug and this new Pacman on the VCS. I'm at the morph ball maze where I presume I'll get the spider ball power-up but keep getting my butt summarily kicked.
Tempest #21 Posted April 12, 2007 I've got quite a list of games I want to get through before picking up a new console (a PS3 in my case): PS2 ---- Metal Slug Anthology - Just need to finish 5 and 6 Dragon Quest VII - This one is going to take awhile Final Fantasy: Durge of Cerberus - Yeah I know it's not all that great, but since the price came way down, I decided to go for it Final Fantasy XII - I beat this awhile back, but I never did beat the final hunt (Tiamat or whoever it was). I'd like to do that. Wii ---- Sonic and the Secret Rings Super Paper Mario DS --- Final Fantasy III - I may have to restart since it's been several months since I last played Puzzle Quest Wario Ware Twisted - I should try this on my Gamecube BGA player... GC --- Fire Emblem - Picked it up for $20, reminds me of Shining Force PS3 (eventually) ---- Oblivion - I hear this is a 100 hour+ game if you do all the quests So as you can see, I'm going to busy for the next 80 years since I get about 5 hours a week to myself these days. And people wonder why my website never gets updated... Tempest
zeropolis79 #22 Posted April 13, 2007 Right now, my daughter and I are playing Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Gamecube. I'm concentrating on Final Fantasy III on the DS, which i imported from the US (a first when it comes to me despite the fact my wife brought me the Gamecube DVD model).
