Robin Williams in "Toys"

Recommended Posts

In the movie in the topic title, the general plays a game called "Tank Gunner", I believe. Looks 16bit... shooting up UN trucks, tanks and Helicopters.

Anyhow... I've done a search for this title, and can't seem to find it. Nothing comes up on KLOV.

Anyone know what is the real name of this title?

Really?!?

No one knows the answer to this?

The game looks fun... and it is clearly a real title... just with an altered title screen and marquee.

I remember reading somewhere that some of the Absolute Entertainment guys (Alex DeMeo and David Crane) put it together specifically for the movie. I don't think it was ever marketed as a standalone game, but I could be wrong.

Alright found some screens - definitely not a real game imo.

Toys (w/ Robin Williams) showed a 'fictional' video game called Tank Gunner that was put together by Absolute Entertainment (using SNES hardware IIRC). I used to have a copy of a magazine article (possibly from one of the newer issues of EG, when it relaunched in the early 90s) on it with Garry Kitchen (I'd post it, but it's currently MIA...)

Which is proven to be true in the movie's credits

Absolute Entertainment made the video game for the movie Toys and also made a game called 'Battle Tank' and "Super Battletank" which looks similar to the fake game they made for the movie.

That help any? ;)

You guys ROCK!

Heh. I knew someone would have the answer.

Seems like a lot of work to put into a title to NOT release it.
