Samurai Warriors 2

Recommended Posts

I'm playing SW2 right now on the 360. Anyone know the difference between SW2 and SW2: Empire?

Heh. I got Samurai Warriors 2 Empires, but I haven't even opened it yet. I got too enthralled in Bullet Witch. :P

I imagine it has the same difference to it that the other Empire games have from their parent franchises. The big difference is that you have a Risk-style strategic map of the land in question, and instead of episodic storyline battles, you play out your own wargame style conquest of the country.

Character selection is a lot different. It's really hard to explain. You'll just have to see it. Basically, you start with a pool of warriors. You choose one as your ruler (either premade or custom), and you can choose from your available pool of fighters each battle (assuming they're in the province you're attacking from). As the game goes on, you'll capture more and more generals and be able to add them to your force, making them selectable to fight with. That should make it clear as mud to ya.

Dynasty Warrios 2 = hack and slash fun galore!

Samurai Warriors 2 = Strategy + hack and slash fun galore!

Seriously, I would get them both. They are a lot of fun, altough Empires is different from the standard game. There isn't quite as much hack and slash, but the idea of trying to rule Japan is cool within itself.

Question about special moves...

On SW2 Empire, I had my musou bars full up (at least 2 bars full anyway), I hit the B button, and this small animation thing popped up before my character performed his special atttack. I tried it again later, but it didn't do. Then, latter in another battle it happened again.

What is that? How do I get it to do this all the time?...or can you?

Oh it's been a good while since I've played the game now.

I don't recall any animations, what was it an animation of...could you tell?

It sounds like either the animation for a double musou which occurs when another general is nearby, or your rage musou which occurs when you're low on life.

Yep, I think thats it. I noticed it again when I was next to another general. Freaked me out the first couple times it happened.
