jpjgfairchild #1 Posted April 7, 2007 (edited) Hi Everyone, I've had this Fairchild Channel F System II in my basement for the last few years and I was curious if it is worth anything. Last time I hooked it up it worked fine. It has the following carts: #2 - Desert Fox/Shooting Gallery (in box w/instructions) #3 - Video Blackjack (w/instructions, no box) #5 - Space war (in box) #13 - Robot War/Torpedo Alley (in box) It's also complete and in the box. The only thing wrong with it is one of the joystick holders doesn't stay attached anymore. It looks like it's missing the little metal snap ring that keeps it in place. Is it worth selling or should I just keep it? Thanks, Paul Edited April 7, 2007 by jpjgfairchild
TimsterAA #2 Posted April 7, 2007 That's one of the few systems I don't yet have, so I would of course encourage you to sell it! --Timster--
jpjgfairchild #3 Posted April 7, 2007 So what's it worth? Any idea? Or perhaps I should rephrase the question... what would you pay for it? Paul
jboypacman #4 Posted April 7, 2007 (edited) Atari2600.Com has these listed with the following prices.... Fairchild Channel F in box-$89.95 #2 Desert Fox/Shooting Gallery-$11.00 #3 Video BlackJack-$5.00 #5 SpaceWar-$12.00 #13 RobotWar/Torpedo Alley-$22.50 Not knowing what the true value of these are this is the best i could come up with using Atari2600.COM. I guess one could check EBay as well. Also i guess you should take in account the fact that your joystick holders dont stay in place anymore. Hope this helps . jpjgfairchild #6 Posted April 8, 2007 Nope sorry, just instructions for a few of the games. Nothing for the console itself except the box.
FND #7 Posted April 8, 2007 Nope sorry, just instructions for a few of the games. Nothing for the console itself except the box. Oh well thanks for checking, BTW now would be a good time to sell on Ebay the boxed Channel F's have been going rather high lately
jpjgfairchild #8 Posted April 8, 2007 What does "rather high" mean? $20? $75? $10,000? lol. Thanks, Paul
FND #9 Posted April 8, 2007 What does "rather high" mean? $20? $75? $10,000? lol. Thanks, Paul They recently have been selling over 100.00 (boxed) but that could change as ebay can fluctuate wildly from one day to the next
jpjgfairchild #10 Posted April 8, 2007 That's not bad I guess. But sometimes I wonder if I was to keep it for a few more years it might increase in value as they become even harder to find...or they might lose value as the people who had them when they were new become old and start to die off...lol. My potential buyers might disappear on me... decisions, decisions... Thanks.
taxman #11 Posted April 9, 2007 Or you can decide to donate it to the Atariage group for being so helpful. Maybe hold a contest of some sort
MrRetroGamer #12 Posted April 13, 2007 (edited) Last year I sold my complete boxed Channel F II collection on eBay. The console was boxed, and it also had all 26 released carts with boxes and instructions PLUS a SABA #20 cart and a boxed Democart. It was during one of those eBay promos like 10 cent listing day, so I put it out there with a outrageous price and I was surprised that someone actually bought it at that price. It was a very nice collection and I was a little sad to see it go, but it was just collecting dust for a long time and saw no play time at all. jpjgfairchild #14 Posted April 22, 2007 I might be able to do that. Is that including shipping costs or not? Send me a PM with your zip or postal code so I can figure out how much shipping will cost and then I'll decide if I want to sell. Thanks, Paul
