riffraff #5 Posted April 8, 2007 That Chase the Chuck Wagon genuine? Yep! It was found in the wild (garage sale) about 12 years ago. I'm guessing someone made some repros since then? Those are some nice pieces of items you got there..... Thank you I opened up this box of "2600 boxes" when looking for something else, and saw some of the boxes had been crushed. EEK! Thankfully they weren't terribly rare stuff and these precious ones were not damaged. How do you store your boxes? I thought just putting them in a large box on a shelf somewhere they'd be safe but now I'm thinking there's got to be a better way. Comic books can have cardboard backs and bags to protect them. Do most collectors collapse their boxes for storage?

DeusExMachina #11 Posted April 8, 2007 The CTCW boxes is nice. I have a CIB CTCW. I used to have an unfolded mint CTCW box. I forget who is sold it to, but they probably are somewhere on this board. I've never seen that Tooth Protectors box...nice!

riffraff #13 Posted April 8, 2007 The game isn't bad if you consider that it was programmed in 4 days.
Fighter17 #14 Posted April 8, 2007 The game isn't bad if you consider that it was programmed in 4 days. Damn and I thought ET's 5 weeks was the record of the shortest developing time.

riffraff #18 Posted April 9, 2007 Just for the record, I did not personally find either of these. CTCW Box was found by Rob Batina 12 years ago at a garage sale. If that wasn't amazing enough, he also found a boxxed Waterworld at the same time. He only wanted the carts so I made a deal to buy the boxes from him. I don't remember how much it was for but he gave me a good deal. The Tooth Protectors box I got in some deal back then too, but I don't remember who with. I just wanted to show em off when I stumbled across them while searching for something else in my collection.
the 5th ghost #19 Posted April 9, 2007 Thanks for sharing! I have a similar CTCW story, but I found mine at a flea market for 50 cents! And I didn't even try to weasle the seller for that price, it was what he was asking He had a box of 30 games and he said he wanted $15 for everything. For me, that was the first time I had ever seen a CTCW box. At the time, there weren't pictures of it on the Net, just the cart. The instructions and cart are mint too, which is a plus. As for the gameplay, I like it. It is VERY challenging to get past the 2,000 point barrier; I've only done it once. That Tooth Protectors styrofoam box is awesome considering how fragile it must be. I'd love to add that to my loose cart one day
riffraff #20 Posted April 9, 2007 (edited) Hey cool. Your box seems in better shape than mine. The instructions and cart are mint too, which is a plus. As for the gameplay, I like it. It is VERY challenging to get past the 2,000 point barrier; I've only done it once. I'm trying to talk Mike Schwartz (ctcw programmer) into coming to the 2007 CGE, maybe signing some CTCW's for people if they want. He doesn't seem too excited about it but maybe I can hammer him into submission by the time the convention arrives.
