What other hacks/homebrews are must-haves?

Recommended Posts

I recently acquired Berzerk VE and have been playing and enjoying the heck out of it. I think my next purchase will be Thrust Platinum. What other hacks or homebrews do y'all recommend? In particular, what other hacks or homebrews would be great multiplayer games like Warlords, Combat,Indy 500, etc.? I am going to be hosting some Atari parties and want to have a wide selection of great multi-play games on hand. However, if you know of a great single-player hack or homebrew don't hesitate to mention it. Thanks fellow gamers!

I would think most hacks (...and there are some REALLY good ones) are available only as ROM files, since there are copyright reasons preventing them from being sold on cart. Is that right?

Yeah, I guess if I'd looked at a few posts down, it might have clicked that Lily's Woods is a Pitfall hack...

...nevermind.

Thrust Platinum is a great choice - one of my favorites. I also like Conquest of Mars, Reindeer Rescue, Star Fire and SWOOPS!

or homebrews would be great multiplayer games like Warlords

While I'm slightly :ponder: biased - you may wish to check out the videos for Medieval Mayhem. You can download the ROMs from my blog to check it out yourself via an emulator, though a computer mouse makes a poor substitute for a paddle. It goes for $25 at the Atari Age Store.
