8th lutz #1 Posted April 10, 2007 (edited) http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/09/gamestop...ding-in-stores/ We're not really sure why, but Gamestop is desperate for you to finish Twilight Princess. First, it was begging you to hurry up and finish it so you can return it and now they've decided to cut to the chase and start showing the ending to the game in stores. We haven't seen it for ourselves, but a few employees of the of Gamestop/EB Games family have clued us in that the last 10 minutes or so of the game is on display on their in-store TV network. We can't reveal exactly what's shown without being spoilicious ourselves so, suffice it to say ... it's everything. Wait, it gets better. The original complainant on the GameFAQs message board says he got the impression that this was going to be a new monthly feature. Some of you may have a problem with it, but think of the convenience! Now you can just go in the Gamestop, put down $5 to pre-order a game, see how it ends and pre-order something else. You could never have to play a game again! All of Gamestop mangement who are involved in this should get fired. Trying to force gamers to finish games as soon as possible is wrong. The game has been for 6 months. I feel store shouldn't do this to games that still having brand new copies in stores in less a years time. Everyone knows the basic part of the end of all zelda games in who is the villian, but it is the principle of showing endings of games from this new gaming generation at this time, is what I have a problem with. JB #2 Posted April 11, 2007 Some days I really do love GameStop... for the same reason other people love car wrecks or monster trucks. It's one big disaster and you just can't look away.
rockman_x_2002 #3 Posted April 11, 2007 Well it doesn't make too much of a difference to me whether I see the ending or not, because I'm both a game player and collector. So that means my copy of TP isn't going to be sold back in anyway. I'm going through it once by myself, and later on with the strategy guide (to get the "full" experience and pick up things that I missed the first go-around). Suffice it to say, I'm hanging on to my copy. So let 'em go ahead and show the ending if they want to. I'm taking my slow easy time. (I'll just remember to keep my eyes and ears covered when I go in there).
moycon #4 Posted April 11, 2007 Next week they are showing the ending to the movie Spider Man 3....I can't wait.
zeropolis79 #5 Posted April 11, 2007 Good job our local GAME shop isn't showing it - I'd tell them what I think of them. I'm hanging onto my Twilight Princess though. I'm on the Zoran temple (and have gotten myself VERY lost - I have no idea where to go).
Gregory DG #6 Posted April 11, 2007 I don't play games to see the ending. I play them for the fun of GETTING to the ending.

If I'm right it's the only part of the game I found didn't make much sense (and was hard as hell to figure out).

If I'm right it's the only part of the game I found didn't make much sense (and was hard as hell to figure out). Is that the underwater one? Hang in there, the game really picks up after that. IIRC that was a hard temple, it took me forever to find the boss door and having to redirect all the water flows was freaking annoying. It's not nearly as hard as the sky temple though. If you're stuck, take a look at an online guide. Honestly, it's not cheating. Tempest
+-^CrossBow^- #9 Posted April 11, 2007 Yeah..the Zoran water temple was a royal pain to get through. i think spent about 3 nights just exploring the temple over and over before I finally figured out where the boss door had to be hiding. I also had trouble figuring out how to get the master dungeon key to open it...hehe. I didn't find the sky temple to be much of a problem though. In fact I think I felt that the sky temple portion was severly rushed to get the game completed that much quicker. Then it got really easy at the end?! Sure sign of rush there. As for gamestops showing the ending. I think that is pretty rude myself. I also think that all it would accomplish is to keep new buyers from buying a copy of the games they show the ending to. Why would someone who hasn't really played a game like Zelda much be interested in playing it if they already know how the game will end?

Truth be told, I didn't think TP ending was all that great anyway... Tempest
+-^CrossBow^- #11 Posted April 11, 2007 I personally liked the ending quite a bit. Much more than the ending to OOT. I just thought the emotion that was presented in the ending was fairly realistic and I honestly had a sinking feeling in my gut at the end of playing it. And no..it wasn't because the game was over..it was because the ending had that much feeling in it that I was drawn in and able to feel what the writers were trying to convey. Very simple and emotional with things conveyed more in the eyes of the characters than with text or some over-dramatic blow off. I felt this was pretty great story telling too, not unlike OOT
