joeybastard #1 Posted April 11, 2007 I have really excellent, generous friends. A couple of months ago, one gave me his Xbox with games and controllers and now someone else just called me and offered me his PS2. That made me think Guitar Hero since it's been tempting me to buy a PS2 for a while now. The thing I'm curious about is the controllers. Are the 3rd party ones any good or should I only get the official ones? I don't care about wires vs wireless so that's not an issue. Thanks!
128bytes #2 Posted April 11, 2007 The official PS2 Guitar Hero II controller is quite good (though a little small - it is really built for kids) - but it's the only one I have tried. At least if you get really good on it with the official controller, you can just walk up to any Guitar Hero setup and feel comfortable. By the way, Gene Simmons was playing Guitar Hero in NYC earlier today
keilbaca #3 Posted April 11, 2007 DO NOT get any of the 3rd party controllers. The only one I heard good things about was the x-plorer that was made for the ps2, but its wireless and it has a slight lag to it. Your best bet is just getting a GH2 bundle. Lord Helmet #4 Posted April 12, 2007 I have heard about problems with some of the 3rd party GH controllers. I wanted 2 guitars, so I just picked up a copy of GH1 and GH2. Each of them came with its own controller.
