neotokeo2001 #1 Posted April 15, 2007 I took my copy of Dawn of the Dead to a Halloween Autograph Show that had actors, directors, make-up guys, etc... I had originally wanted to have several actors sign the cart but after meeting George Romero and talking to him I decided to go with the single name. Anything else would just take away from it. (I just recently got a camera so sorry for the bad quality photo. Still learning) Stay Scared' George A. Romero When I first handed him the Atari cartridge he had a confused look and asked what it was. When I told him that it was an Atari 2600 game he thought about it for a second and then said, "I didn't think that game was ever made". I explained that it was a recent fan made Atari game(Non profit) and he really liked the whole idea. He asked if it was possible to get a copy and gave me a mailing address. I sent him a copy of the game (with the included severed finger) and several weeks later recieved a nice thank you letter with a bunch of Dead promotional pictures(From Night to Land). If you ever get a chance to see George Romero in person don't pass it up. He truly is fan friendly and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. moycon #3 Posted April 15, 2007 Great story. I love his work including the more obscure stuff like Martin and Season of the Witch.

Kid Ice #9 Posted April 15, 2007 What's really cool about that story is he could have said "You can't do that without my permission" and made a big fuss about it. Instead he sends *you* stuff for the cart. Very cool.
neotokeo2001 #10 Posted April 15, 2007 Scan the letter! I bet it's awesome! I barely figured out the camera part. I'll have to see if I can get a scanner. What's really cool about that story is he could have said "You can't do that without my permission" and made a big fuss about it. Instead he sends *you* stuff for the cart. Very cool. He is a very cool guy. What I thought was interesting is that he seems to have been aware of someone actually working on(Or trying to get the rights to) an Atari 2600 version of Dawn of the Dead. I collect autographs as another hobby and I can tell you that few people are as nice or down to Earth as George Romero.
neotokeo2001 #11 Posted April 15, 2007 Another very cool actor is Michael Berryman (Hills Have Eyes). I met him a few years ago. I just need to hurry up and finish this so I can get it autographed. I have started on it several times with different games but have never been happy with the results. I think I just found a way to combine my two hobbies. Atari Dogs #12 Posted April 15, 2007 Great story! I wonder if he just wanted a copy of the cart for a collection or if he has a 2600? How many famous people are still Atari fans? Any picture of the celeb with a game or cartridge?
Zwackery #13 Posted April 16, 2007 That would look great between my Romero autographed Night of the Living Dead and Ken Foree autographed Dawn of the Dead... Romero is a great guy to talk to - very approachable and enthusiastic.
