Gorf #26 Posted May 25, 2007 (edited) Medieval Mayhem is my take on Warlords. It's for sale here at Atari Age. Who ever said the 2600 has nothing in common with the Jaguar , has never seen this. Jaguar Kindom Klash. Edited May 25, 2007 by Gorf
Sonja #27 Posted November 10, 2007 (edited) Maybe if I just shoot some Deoxit in the tiny holes I won't have to take apart the pot. Edited November 10, 2007 by Sonja
Sonja #28 Posted November 10, 2007 How do you get behind there and unbend the tabs?
Longhorn Engineer #29 Posted November 10, 2007 http://www.longhornengineer.com/Fixatarico...lers/2600paddle I have some detailed pictures in taking the pot apart there. Hope they help.
BigO #30 Posted November 12, 2007 Maybe if I just shoot some Deoxit in the tiny holes I won't have to take apart the pot. People here tell me it doesn't work for them. I have no problems with the paddles that I've just used cheap Radio Shack tuner cleaner on without potentiometer disassembly. I think it's partly a matter of understanding how the pot is built and where to shoot the cleaner. The pictures should be helpful for that. I think it's worth giving the Deoxit a shot after you've determined how to get it into the pot effectively.
Deteacher #31 Posted November 14, 2007 I've cleaned many a set of paddles using the disassembly approach, with one exception: I don't use any type of liquid/spray/cleaner/etc. I just clean all the black gunk off the resistor pad with a tissue and put it back together. I've never had a problem. Maybe using some type of cleaner adds a little film of lubricant or something, but my paddles have always worked as smooth as silk after a "dry cleaning." adelaide-atari #32 Posted October 1, 2008 help me people!! how the hell do i fold back the little metal tabs?!!?!?! i can't get anything under there!!!!! grrrrr
PantsBandit #33 Posted October 1, 2008 This has probably already been said but the best way to fix the paddles is definitly open them up and clean the black ring contact on the circut board. I just did this 10 minutes ago on a pair of paddles I have and super breakout works amazing! Here is a link on how to clean the paddles: http://www.atariguide.com/help/care.htm
Rik #34 Posted October 2, 2008 Just a tip, when bending the metal tabs back on the pots, bend them just far enough to take pot apart, the further back you pull them, the more stress you'll put on them. You can only bend those tabs back and forth so much,or only a couple of times, and metal fatique will make them break off. adelaide-atari #35 Posted October 2, 2008 ok, all done!... wiped 2 sets of paddles clean with windex, all perfect... very happy
Rik #36 Posted October 2, 2008 Yeah, the only way to fix paddle jitter is to open up the pots, and clean out the crap.Just spraying cleaners in the pots wont do much, they'll probably work better for a day or 2 then when the crap hardens up after the cleaner dries, you'll have the same problem.
