godzillajoe #1 Posted April 20, 2007 So I just picked up a copy of this game. Seems like the worm will frequently change directions if you let go of the stick. At least it seems that way when I was playing it. Anyone else experience this?
Shawn #2 Posted April 20, 2007 Nope, but it is a sweet game though
godzillajoe #3 Posted April 20, 2007 Crap. I hope I'm not having some joystick port issue. I'll have to try Surround and see if similar things happen
Lord Thag #4 Posted April 21, 2007 Yeah, mine doesn't do that either. I like the game, though. Very much like Snake Byte on the Apple II.
jetset #5 Posted April 22, 2007 Same here, never had any problems. Very fun game too. I especially like playing when my kids have friends over. Probablly about THE most primitive looking game on the VCS, yet they wind up dropping the xbox controller for a few go rounds.

A game of this style was actually the first thing I started to program on the 2600. Somewhere I may have the worksheet where I tried to work out the cycle timings. I gave up on the game when I figured that the development sequence: -1- Write code and assemble it. -2- Take it into the office. -3- Burn an EPROM -4- Take it home -5- Try it out Wasn't going to be very practical. Since then I've picked up the project again and have it somewhat backburnered after having determined it should be feasible to do things the way I want (nicer looking than Tapeworm).
