Trip_Cannon #1 Posted May 2, 2007 Has anybody here ordered from Direct 4? I'm having difficulty interacting with them currently. Their mailbox is constantly full and my e-mails keep bouncing. I've won a few games from them on ebay and they say on their site that they offer a shipping discount for ordering more than one item. However, they're charging me per item and it adds up to $30 US for 3 games! I know they're located in the UK, but damn... So has anybody been granted a shipping discount for ordering more than one game on ebay or is there something I'm missing?

I'd go into more detail, but I gotta go give a final exam. Do a search in the Jaguar forum for a posting about their Xmas sale last year, as I had the same shipping issue you did you'll see my posts about them. I really wouldn't give them any money. holygrailvideogames.com #4 Posted May 2, 2007 I have ordered a couple of items from them. The first one arrived right away without a problem. The second one took a long time but did arrive. After hearing how some members on here have had some serious issues with them I will think twice before buying from them again.
EricDeLee #5 Posted May 3, 2007 I ordered Sokomania from them off of ebay. No issues. But, I've recieved many horror stories and read many while waiting for my game. Good luck
+remowilliams #6 Posted May 3, 2007 I've heard a number of issues, but I ordered three or four Jag games from them a few months ago during a sale and got 'em without problems.
Zwackery #7 Posted May 3, 2007 Here's a bit more detail about my experience from using their website. I placed an order with D4G in November, got all the games promptly, well packaged, and in good condition. The shipping fee was quite reasonable, too. On 05 December 2006, I placed a second order with Direct4Games.com and my credit card was billed 91.81 pounds sterling. The shipment that went out the next day from Direct4Games only included 2 games and I was supposedly only charged 31.86 pounds sterling. What D4G did was not ship 4 of the games I ordered, yet they still kept the shipping charge the same (which is their insanely high flat rate - I think it begins around at least $20 - then a per item charge, and I was still hit as if I had ordered 6 items!). I contacted Direct4Games about this, because the non-shipped merchandise was still listed as available on their website and they were selling the same games on eBay (all about $10 higher than their website listings) and on 04 Jan 2007 I was told that I should expect a refund charged to my credit card for the difference of 59.95 pounds sterling (or 117 US dollars). {[Just to prove a point, with one game that D4G did not send, I ordered from them via eBay and received the game promptly, so what was the problem in the first place? Does eBay make them play fair? D4G was using eBay heavily while their website was offline for months and months.} On 21 February 2007 and I asked them why I had still not received a refund, and I was sent an email saying they "could not get into their online banking" and as a result had to switch a new online card merchant. Now, this could have been a legitimate issue, but it still does not inspire much confidence. D4G also used this as an excuse as to why their website was offline (and if anyone feels like searching the forums, you can look up that it was a looooooong time between when D4G showed up here and when they finally opened their website for the first time). I contacted my CC company to let them know what was going on and contacted D4G to let them know that I was initiating an investigation that might lead to CC fraud. My CC company asked me to send them every email, every invoice, and any other documentation (like screen caps of their sales on the internet) I had, which I produced and mailed at my own expense. On 31 March 2007, my credit card company issued an interim credit for the disputed charges with D4G (including some additional minor adjustments), and as of this posting it seems to have been finally processed. D4G provided lousy customer service (if I can go so far as to call it that). D4G charges lousy int'l shipping rates from their website - the flat fee is only attractive if you place a big order from them and factor the charge per game across multiple titles, but you have zero guarantee they will honor the original order. D4G actually claims that their website doesn't accurately reflect their inventory, which is a lousy business practice. See the major discussion over in the Lynx forum about this issue. Would you trust a company that doesn't know their own inventory? Mine is not the only negative experience. D4G showed up here and asked about prices on goods, basically soliciting the advice and expertise of this board for free and then set their price points to take advantage of what they had learned. I do not consider them gamer-friendly (especially how the owner has really attacked Neo-Geo fans). Bottom line: if you see a deal that's too good to be true on D4G, you just may be right. EricDeLee #8 Posted May 3, 2007 Problems with a Jag order issues in the Lynx area Taking money and never sending games (Lynx) There are a lot of strange things going on with D4G. They refuse to send pictures of the repro prototypes. They claim they are factory sealed... whatever the hell that means. How is there a factory sealed Sokomania or other things like that? Either way, I got my cart from them, so I consider myself very lucky. I won't try it again though as I'd hate to get lost in their little trap over there
Trip_Cannon #9 Posted May 6, 2007 An update for anybody trying to order from Direct 4. DON'T DO IT! All the horror stories are correct. I paid for the items along with their outrageous shipping and they've just opened a dispute saying I haven't paid. I for sure will NEVER order from these people again.
