Ite #1 Posted May 3, 2007 I see that this website has alot of homebrews for sale, what are the best ones? I might buy one or two.
Thomas Jentzsch #2 Posted May 3, 2007 I suggest: Download them and try before your buy. And/or read some reviews, either in the store or linked from the reviews page in the 2600 section.
Ite #3 Posted May 3, 2007 That stickynotes is cool how you can leave messages but 25.00 is pretty expensive to pay. Anyone buy it?

vdub_bobby #5 Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) So many threads on this subject. Anyway, recommendations could be better if you said what kind of games you like best. IMO, the best games are Thrust+, Lady Bug, Strat-O-Gems Deluxe, and Medieval Mayhem. Probably the best game-for-your-buck are the two compilation carts: the 2005 Minigame Compo cart and SWOOPS!. But tastes vary... Edited May 3, 2007 by vdub_bobby
Crazy Climber #6 Posted May 3, 2007 I just put in an order for Thrust+ and Power Off! I like robots

+Nathan Strum #8 Posted May 4, 2007 So many threads on this subject. Maybe there needs to be a sticky thread on homebrew recommendations.

bomberpunk #10 Posted May 4, 2007 (edited) these are AWESOME 2-player homebrews: Fall Down Gun Fight Warring Worms: The Worm (Re)Turns plus there's the 4-player Warlords revisit; Medieval Mayhem or, to get the best bang for your buck try these on for size: 2005 Minigame Multicart (a whopping 7 minigames) Phantom II / Pirate (2 great games) SWOOPS! (3 sweet minigames) then there's Ladybug, my absolute favorite. man, i could probably sell cars... Edited May 4, 2007 by bomberpunk
Dauber #11 Posted May 4, 2007 What's in Pac-Man Collection? I didn't see it here on the website. Hoooooooooo wee! http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95298 Now, 1) Get an Atari 7800, if you don't have one already; 2) BUY PAC-MAN COLLECTION!!!!!! (There's an exclamation point in the title, so really count this only as five exclamation points...) 3) While you're at it, get Strat-O-Gems Deluxe, Ladybug, Conquest of Mars, Thrust+, and Medieval Mayhem....and when Toyshop Trouble is available, pounce on it! +atari2600land #12 Posted May 4, 2007 Definitely Strat-O-Gems, IMO, the best homebrew game on the Atari 2600.
supercat #13 Posted May 4, 2007 Definitely Strat-O-Gems, IMO, the best homebrew game on the Atari 2600. Well thank you (I'm the author of Strat-O-Gems). I would suggest, though, that Thrust+ is still the king of homebrews, though Ladybug is also excellent. Toyshop Trouble (my second cart for AtariAge) is also good, though I'm not sure how easily you'll be able to find a copy since it was a limited release. bomberpunk #14 Posted May 4, 2007 Definitely Strat-O-Gems, IMO, the best homebrew game on the Atari 2600. i forgot about that one. and i play that one more than any of the others. definitely the most addictive title. i can get lost in that game for hours. Lord Helmet #15 Posted May 4, 2007 There's lots of threads about what homebrews are the best... I'd like to point out that most of them are as good or better than most of the games released back in the 80's.
