Well Raiden is pretty fun, although it's pretty hard. It's got nice graphics, sounds, and control though. It's a fun game to pick up and play. Trevor McFur is so-so. It's got nice graphics, but the sound is lacking. No music even. Some fun can be had from this one though. The Native Demo on the Jag CD is pretty impressive for what little there is. Really nice graphics, good control, but no sound. Fun for about 10-15 minutes. :) Protector and Protector: SE are both really good Defender clones. The graphics are simple, but they move really fast and there is cool particle effects. The sound is just so-so and the control is really good. Defender 2000, from what I've heard, is also a really good game. Some complain the 2000 mode is too fast and your ship is too big. But I've heard great things about the classic mode. So I think it's a tossup between Protector and Defender 2k...

On to space games...there are a ton on the Jag. Battlesphere and Battlesphere: Gold are usually regarded as the best space games on the Jag. But they are hard to get and cost a fortune. Cybermorph and Battlemorph are pretty decent games. I know a lot of people think Battlemorph is a big improvement over Cybermorph, but I honestly thought it was just marginally better. Both games are pretty similar. Then there's Hoverstrike which is decent as well...Really there are a lot of decent Space games on the Jag...But really, you should just search the online reviews as many of them are done by the same people who post in Jaguar forums. ;)

You already have pretty much everything worth owning in the category you inquired about, there's not much more to say really. :(

Battlemorph: 10/10 (great level design with alot of variety. nice graphics and very fun gameplay.)

Skyhammer: 9/10 (great if you can ignore the bugs and framerate)

Native: 9/10 (wish it was complete.)

Zero 5: 8/10 (some don't like it so much. you likely won't be very good at it until you finish the game once)

Defender 2000: 7/10 (good graphics, sound and gameplay. the bigs ships suck at first, but easy to get use to)

Battlesphere: 7/10 (somewhat repetitive. decent graphics. what little there is plays very well tho)

SpaceWar2000: 7/10 (great PSX-quality graphics. very different gameplay than Battlesphere)

Cybermorph: 6/10 (lack of variety similar to Battlesphere. a reasonable game tho. passable graphics)

Protector: 6/10 (aweful sound. passable to aweful graphics. good gameplay. overall decent.)

Raiden: 6/10 (was probably great when it was released.)

Trevor McFur: 4/10 (really poor level design. I think the graphics were just randomly tossed into the game)

I know, I know, I'm a broken record, but I most enthusastically agree: best game on the system. :)

I have to say somthing. Trevor Mcfur is a really good game i totally enjoy playing it. It gets knocked alot for its sound and no in level music, however does in level music for a space shooter really make or break a game? I personally don't think so. The formula of cool weapons and animals flying space ships seem to make a great space shooter game. Which i think trevor falls under. :D

The thing I hate about Trevor McFur is that the enemy placement is absolutely horrid. The entire point of a shmup is to place the enemies, bullet patterns, and environmental obstacles in such a way that there is either some strategy required to pass or some skill required to score high. Trevor McFur does neither, it just throws leagues of crap at you all at once, end of story. I adore shmups, they're one of my favorite genres, but I absolutely hate Trevor McFur. 3/10

Raiden on the other hand is excellent. It's not quite as polished as the arcade original or the Raiden Project port on the PSX, but it's still extremely playable. Enemy placement and bullet patterns are impeccable, and the soundtrack is almost as great as the original. Earlier levels are somewhat easy as you need only sweep from left to right to left (most enemies shoot directly at you, so just keep moving and you'll be okay), but the difficulty picks up quickly toward the beginning of the third stage. Also, I like the simulated TATE mode with the menu bar taking up the right part of the screen. The game looks great on my HDTV, now I just need to find some S-Video cables. 7/10

Tempest 2000: 9.5/10 Near perfection, except that the screen gets overly cluttered with exploding debris!

Battlesphere: 9.5/10 Excellent. Too bad it's almost impossible to buy a copy.

Skyhammer: 8.5/10 Great but buggy.

Protector: 8/10 Good Defender knock-off.

Native: 7.5/10. What little is there is great - but only half-baked.

Battlemorph: 7.5/10 Some people love BM, but I think it's just CyberMorph Redux.

SpaceWar2000: 7.5/10 Coulda been great if it'd been finished. As it is, an impressive tech demo.

Cybermorph: 7.5/10 Not a bad game. Innovative graphics for 1993.

Defender 2000: 6/10. Severe let-down from Minter. Classic mode is great, but the 2000-mode is mediocre.

Raiden: 6/10. Vertical scrolling shooter. Nothing special IMHO.

Trevor McFur: 6/10. Horizontal scrolling shooter. Good graphics but uneven gameplay.

Zero 5: 5/10 Beautiful but terrible gameplay.
