raindog151 #1 Posted May 7, 2007 Picked this up over the weekend, just thought I'd share a few quick items.. 1. The sandbox is fun. Swinging around pseudo NYC is a blast. There isn't much interaction between you and the environment, but it's a hell of a ride. 2. The missions are bleh. The combat is very awkward. You'll hit what you meant to around 80% of the time. As far as I can tell, there's no way to target a particular enemy or object, so it's kind of a crapshoot. You'll fight the usual Spiderman universe enemies, scorpion, new goblin, venom, etc. 3. You don't get the black suit right away, and you may get bored before you get there. All in all, it feel uninspired, and not nearly as fun as Ultimate. Perhaps some DLC in the future (Venom, please!) would fix it, but there's a very limited amount of things to do, and beating up gangs gets boring quickly. Anyone else have an opinion? dalton4life #2 Posted May 7, 2007 (edited) I agree for the most part. I'll add sometimes the graphics are amazing and others they are just ok. The game has plenty of glitches too. Overall it feels like they rushed this game to get it out in time for the movie release. Edited May 7, 2007 by dalton4life
moycon #3 Posted May 7, 2007 The reviews aren't being kind to this game, and altho I usually don't take what they say to heart, from the sound of things this game could have been so much more than it is. It's too bad, as this could have been a decent game on the 360 with a little thought and effort. I suspect dalton4life is right, the thought wasnt to make a great game, the thought was for it to hit the market when the movie hit the theaters. Lord Helmet #4 Posted May 7, 2007 Sounds pretty typical for a movie based game.
dalton4life #5 Posted May 7, 2007 (edited) Sounds pretty typical for a movie based game. The thing is though Activision/Treyarch broke that mode with Spider-man 1 and more so 2. Spider-man 3 really seems like a regression. Edited May 8, 2007 by dalton4life
Buyatari #6 Posted May 7, 2007 I played it a bit and picked up a few achievements but found it bleh overall so I took it to the store to resell it to the next sucker. Not worth $60 IMHO but for ~$20 is could be a decent game.
swlovinist #7 Posted May 8, 2007 I am sorry, but this game is broken. Not worth 60, not worth 40, probably an ok rental. The framerate dips, the graphics are so-so, and the overall game just feels plain. Even the voice overs are meh. I did like the intro level though, nice humor. This game sucks compared to Spiderman 2.
