jboypacman's Blog - A review of Kangaroo(for the Atari 5200).

Recommended Posts

Years ago when i had gotten my first Atari 2600 one of my favorite games was Kangaroo.I remember just loving playing this fun Donkey Kong inspired game.

Now in recent years having gotten back into Atari(and classic gaming)i picked up a copy of Kangaroo for my Atari 5200 and let me say i could not be happier with this version.

For thoses of you who may have never played this game heres the run down on it....

The object of Kangaroo is to score as many points as you can while helping Monther Kangaroo rescue her precious baby.

Points are givin in the game by punching apple-tossing monkeys and collecting fruit.

You will encounter many obstacles besides the befored mentioned monkeys such as rolling logs, droping fruit, and ladders.

There are four levels total in Kangaroo with two skill levels.

Graphics for the Atari 5200 version i found to be excellent and the sounds are decent too and suprisingly i had no problems with the controls using the 5200 controllers.(Which are known not to be the best controllers.)

So my final take on Kangaroo for the Atari 5200,Its great just like the Atari 2600 version of this game,It has become one of my favorites. So i am giving it thumbs up! :)
