AtariJr #1 Posted May 10, 2007 Ok, I just picked this game up used for free (ill get to that later) and all the levels seem to be complete on the globe. i dont know what is the beginning levels or the end, so i want to just start from scratch, but unlike most games there is no save area that allows you to reset or "erase" a game save. its just... there. does anyone know how to reset this so i can play this all new? anywho, the guy ended up giving me back 2 five's and a dollar instead of 1 five and a dollar from a ten dollar bill i gave him to pay for it. ah well, so i actually got payed a dolalr to take it. i didnt notice til i was 15 minutes away at a BP getting gas. PressureCooker2600 #4 Posted May 10, 2007 what he said....... i've performed the game erase a bunch of times....cause after awhile, i want to restart on a fresh game. i love this game....one of the best N64 games
Hoodoo #5 Posted May 18, 2007 I'm not sure if ALL n64 titles can use it, but I've noticed holding Start will let you clear a LOT of games (WCW/nWo Revenge, Wrestlemania 2000, No Mercy and I *think* a few more of the Nintendo ones as well..I don't have a lot for 64, would anyone care to test this theory? moycon #7 Posted May 19, 2007 Wow Talk about a blast from the past! Blast Corps!!?? We recently bought a cabin up in the North GA mountains, I plan on taking retro systems up there with me to play on the week-ends. So far I've packed up the Dreamcast (Not really retro I know but I love DC) Odyssey, and Colecovision. I'm going to have to pack up my N64. When Blockbuster and ToyRUs cleared out their N64 games I bought em up by the handfull. Many in the original boxes including Blast Corps. To this day there are games I have yet to even plug in the N64, I've heard BC is a decent game but have yet to try it out. All that's gonna change soon. Wasn't suggesting you ACTUALLY reset them. I've noticed the ones of these I have that do this give you the CHOICE whether to reset data upon holding start. I was just curious as to which games this might work for....

Yeah, i need to grab another one of those myself. I only recently started buying N64 games again, and i went to check out Rayman 2 and my memory pak was corrupted for some reason...haven't used the thing in years, and when i finally need it it's broken. Figures. I'm not sure why so many companies opted to use memory card saves anyway...battery backup was like the only good thing about cartridge based games over CD based ones. SRAM/flash RAM/EEPROM in the cart is more expensive than not having it, for obvious reasons.
shadow460 #11 Posted May 19, 2007 Scumdogg, you should be able to re format that corrupted memory card. I think if you load a game that uses it, you hold start, turn the power on, and a memory manager should appear. KI Gold has one, and I believe the Game Shark has one also. I'd still grab another one anyway, though--they fill up fast.
kevincal #12 Posted May 19, 2007 Blast Corps is pretty cool, albeit quite quirky. It's definitely a unique game though. I can't think of any game that is really at all similar to it. I think I got stuck in the game though...I ended up selling it recently actually. I'll buy it back someday I'm sure.
