scooby105 #76 Posted June 22, 2007 Well, mine just arrived yesterday and it looks like it'll be going back to be fixed. I don't have the technical skill to do it myself. Bill Same here. Yeah, I just mailed mine back today. Updated roms helped fix most of the issue, but I'd rather just get it all fixed.
nintendo #77 Posted June 23, 2007 Got my Power Pak today and it has the resistors to fix the bus conflict. Yes! Now to try it out on my A/V Famicom and Super 8 NES to SNES adapter.
+remowilliams #78 Posted June 24, 2007 It's definitely the 'newer' NES hardware that shows the sprite glitching. I picked up a mint boxed original release deck and it only exhibits the known mapper issues. The downside of that is now I have a reason to be lazy about installing the resistor pack fix. nintendo #80 Posted July 1, 2007 Got my Power Pak today and it has the resistors to fix the bus conflict. Yes! Now to try it out on my A/V Famicom and Super 8 NES to SNES adapter. How's it working out for you? Seems to be working well on both A/V Famicom and the Super 8. I haven't seen any graphic glitches. Only some games won't work but I think those are mapper-compatability issues. I haven't tried too may games; maybe about 30. Do any of the English-translated roms like Sweet Home and Samurai Pizza Cats work? I think I have some bad dumps because the Mike Tyson's Punch-Out I have also doesn't work. The Earthbound proto works well though. I finally got to play Little Samson on my NES. I was always curious about it since it's "rare" and hard-to-find. It's a decent game so far. Haven't finished it though. Also, do any of the Dragon Ball Z Famicom games work with the Power Pak?
Kenny_McCormic #81 Posted July 1, 2007 Because CF is pin to pin compatible with IDE wouldnt it be cool to hook a hard drive up to the nes?
nintendo #82 Posted July 1, 2007 Because CF is pin to pin compatible with IDE wouldnt it be cool to hook a hard drive up to the nes? Not really. That would add more bulk to the system. And I think some one said you could fit all the NES games on a singe CF card. Not sure what capacity though, but I think at least a 2gig CF card could hold all the games. So no need for an actual hard drive.

Shannon #84 Posted July 2, 2007 Neat. I'll have to keep my eye on this and maybe get one when the job situation is a little more stable.

nintendo #86 Posted July 5, 2007 So, how is everyone doing with their PowerPak? I don't have too many roms to test, so could someone maybe post a compatability list (Please )so we can see at a glance which games are currently playable on the PowerPak? Largo2000 #87 Posted July 11, 2007 The NES PowerPak is here! Now you can play ROMs on a real NES system! Can someone please let me know WHEN the NES PowerPak is expected to be on sale again? I want one really, really bad Thanks!
Gregory DG #88 Posted July 11, 2007 I want one really, really bad Me too... I keep checking the website to see if it's available... Me want now.
SRGilbert #89 Posted July 11, 2007 Honestly, you are probably looking at several months before they will be available again. The initial run was only around 100 carts, and those were sold out AFAIK.

I can wait for one of these...but I REALLY want one

bones #94 Posted October 24, 2007 Awesome, just ordered one, thanks for the heads up! I was on the site yesterday and it still wasn't available, guess timing is everything I'm hoping to use this as an excuse to downsize my NES cart collection, just keeping the games I really like, have cool artwork, etc. Is there a list of incompatible games out there? Or a list of what games use which mappers? I could spend an afternoon downloading and testing a couple hundred games but it'd be great to have a reference list handy. bones #96 Posted May 18, 2008 Does anyone have an email address for Retrozone? I'm just getting around to trying out my PowerPak and all it does is display a solid orange screen. I tried it on both the original toaster and original top loader, no dice.
slorrin #97 Posted August 1, 2008 I just got my powerpak, but there is a looooud 60hz hum coming out of the audio channell.. like.. as loud as regular audio.. but not for any of my other carts, obviously.. has anyone else noticed anything like this with their powerpak? Is it unusually noisy?
phaxda #98 Posted September 1, 2008 I have never noticed a hum from my PowerPak. I did have trouble getting it to run, but it was apparently due to bad ROM dumps. Probably no help with the orange screen problem though--that sounds a bit more serious. Did you ever get in touch with them?

Is it unusually noisy? I had the same problem. It was because I was using an unofficial third party AC power adapter for my NES. I switched to an official Nintendo AC power adapter and the problem went away.
