microsoft banning modded 360's on live

Recommended Posts

This guy right here is a prime example of gamerscore cheater, ie. someone who downloads gamesaves and then signs into Live with the new points and/or sharing his gamertag. He was probably banned since he hasn't been online since the bans started, but look at all the days his gamerscore went up without him playing on Live.

Yah... but I think alot of people with modded DVD "stealth" firmware's were thinking there was no way microsoft would be able to detect it.

Probably. And 99.999% of them are pirates, so screw them. There's zero homebrew for the 360, and the only reason for the DVD firmware mod at this point is pure piracy. They get what they deserve.

And then there's the other 0.001%, who ARE actually exercising their legal right to make and use backups(not "backups"... I HATE what the piracy scene does to valid terms).

Normally, I would agree to an extent, but MS implimented a replacement disc program so there is no need to fall back on that excuse now. And if we were all to be really honest, in all the cd/dvd games we have purchased over the years, I doubt any of us have needed a backup even once because the origianl has become totally unuseable.

Actually, chalk me up as one who has had to replace many discs (I no longer allow anybody to borrow CD media due to this now) But the fact is, I've had them go bad, even without people messing with them. Ground Zero died on my SACD (model2) A new copy fixed the problems. Need for Speed 2 and Ht persuit for PSX, both are replacements for originals, and these were back befor the easy go to gamestore and get them resurfaced, so while not full price, I bought them new from the store. As for modern consoles. Hell, I'm currently looking for my fourth copy of Halo (yeah, fourth, that's how much it's played) And lets not even start on load heavy games like Morrowind or Oblivion, which will stop working with seemingly nothing wrong with the discs.

Still, I don't care for pirating, so if Microsoft wants to ban peole for playing moded consoles, more power to them. It doesn't affect me as I can't get online anyways, even if I wanted to.
