+Random Terrain
For anyone who doesn't know, the History Channel is showing Modern Marvels: 70s Tech tomorrow night: http://www.history.com/shows.do?episodeId=...p;action=detail Looks like they might talk about the Atari 2600 or at least Nolan Bushnell and other cool things. codyr783
Just saw the part about video games.I liked the interview with Nolan Bushnell. But it seemed like the show frowns upon Atari.
rockman_x_2002
Just saw the part about video games.I liked the interview with Nolan Bushnell. But it seemed like the show frowns upon Atari. They didn't really frown on Atari, so much as they were just sorta apathetic toward it. Of course, I think their whole point was video games in general got their beginnings in the 1970s. It was still cool seeing a real six-switcher on TV, but all the in-game video came from a Flashback 2 (which, actually, was still quite cool. ) I noticed on the satellite guide that at 10/9c, they're going to show a repeat of last year's "80's Tech" too. Might be worth sticking around for, since I missed it when it aired last year.

+Random Terrain
Well that was a big ball of nothin'. Pretty disappointing. I also set up the 80s one since I believe I never got to see the whole thing before. I hope it is better than their 70s show. lord_mike
Watched it tonight and it was very cool.My wife got excited when she saw the Speak-N'-Spell on there has she had one of these when she was little. Mine, too! We aren't married to the same woman, are we? She was amazed at how much it cost back then... I never had one myself... had no interest in anything that was "educational", but I played a lot of friends' speak and spells... Thanks, Mike
A.J. Franzman
I always wanted a Speak-N'-Spell (even before E.T. used one). How much do they go for these days?
ewing92
any chance of them airing it again soon? I watched the last 15 minutes of 80's Tech, no video games at all, and I've been looking for it to some on again ever since, and damn it! lol I missed this one too because I didn't come on here yesterday! Gregory DG
I recorded them both on my DVR... I might be convinced to make a DVD of it. Anyway, it wasn't bad. I guess because I've already gone over this history myself a dozen or more times. (2600 was the name of the system's graphics chip?!) I thought that Atari's name explaination was one of the end segment tags was cool. 80's Tech actually had a better 2600 segment than the 70's Tech did.
