Esplin #1 Posted May 30, 2007 I love this game! I remember playing it as a child and never being able to get really far. But now playing it again at 20 really has improved since then. The graphics are really good for the NES and even the backgrounds look great. The sprite animations are pretty crisp as well. I just am so happy to at last find this game in the wild I had to talk about it to people who would actually appreciate the game Ryan
raindog151 #2 Posted May 30, 2007 Congrats on the find! I loved that game as well, I remember playing the demo at the 1990(?) Nintendo World Championship along with Lolo. I never managed to beat the gigantic demon boss at the end, lord knows I tried.
rockman_x_2002 #3 Posted May 30, 2007 NG2 is one of the best of the best on the NES. To me, it's also the easiest of the NG series (with NG3 being the hardest by far due to limited continues and even more taxing level design). All the NG games take a ton of level and pattern memorization, especially memorising where they put in "cheap shots" to kill you by knocking you into a rather inconveniently placed hole in the stage floor. Tecmo seemed to do that a lot in NG.
PressureCooker2600 #4 Posted May 31, 2007 I always preferred part 1 of the trilogy. I could fly through that with one hand tied behind my back. I was always like 'Man, I could whoop that little kid in 'The Wizard's ass at this game. Mad skillz. I still like the 2nd and 3rd NGs. I always wished it would have continued on the NES or SNES. Instead we got the 3D X-Box versions that don't make me think of Ninja Gaiden at all.....except for the outfit he's wearing.
