jboypacman's Blog - Namco "Plug-N-Play" Ms.Pac-Man Edition.

Recommended Posts

I was playing baround with some of my "Plug-N-Play" games the other day and i thought it would be cool to throw up a review about one of these on the old Blog so here you go.......

Back in 2004 Jakks Pacific toy company(makers of the WWE line of toys)came out with this "Plug-N-Play" TV game featuring several of Namco's greatest arcade games on it.This games are......

Ms.Pac-Man

Galaga

Xevious

Mappy

Pole Position

The "Plug-N-Play" unit itself is pretty soild and fits decently in your hand but i much perfer to set it on something(Desk,Table, ect).

It has two buttons and a arcade style stick which can move in four directions(up,down, left, right)and twist as well to simulate a steering wheel. This is a pretty neat feature that is used for Pole Position(I didnt realize at first it did this and i thought my stick wouldnt work correctly).

There are three buttons on the unit, two for the games and one for the menu(So you can exit during a game to the main menu).Plus there is a On/Off switch.

Two cables come off the back of this,Yellow and White(Audio and Video)and the "Plug-N-Play"is two colors itself,Blue and Black with some very nice glossy sticks showing what games are playable.

The Ms.Pac-Man "Plug-N-Play" uses four "AA"batteries and will last for quite a while i have found(I havnt replaced the batteries yet and i have this for sometime).

Now most inportantly how well did the games turn out on this unit? Well,i can say very well.I have not notice any problems with the emulation of these games(am no expert mind you).Everything sounds and looks like it should and all the games play well.

Jakks Pacific did a great job on this "Plug-N-Play" TV game and i have no problems recommending this to someone. Its a fun little device for everyone to play some great arcade classics on. :)
