Martial arts games on the 7800

Just a quick question, apart from ninja golf, are there any other martial arts games on the system worth persuing?

There's Karateka. Most people hate it though.

 

If Ninja Golf is martial arts then I'd say M.I.A. is martial arts as well.

 

Mitch is selling the M.I.A. proto right now. Personally I think it's worth getting.

I have a cartridge called "Kung Fu Master". That seems likely to be martial arts oriented.

 

I haven't played it because I don't have a properly working controller at the moment.

Hi,

 

my favorite one is Double Dragon. It has a nice soundtrack, excellent drawn levels and with 2players it´s real fun! Kung Fu Master is also nice, but not so detailed.

 

If it counts, there´s Title Match- Pro Wrestling and Mat Mania Challenge. While the first is a nice little game, the 2nd is totally crap. But they are both more sports games then fighters.

 

Basketbrawl is also some kind of martial Arts game mixed with Basketball. Really nice, one of my favorite games!

 

There exists a prototype o Pit Fighter, too.

 

I ordered MIA right now and am waiting for it so I cannot talk about it right now.

Martial Arts games for the 7800 and how most people would rate them:

 

Ninja Golf: B-

Kung Fu Master: C-

Karateka: F

 

As far as other types of fighting games:

 

Double Dragon: A to F (depends on the person, I guess. I think the game is great, others hate it)

Basketbrawl/ mainly a basketball game, tho: A-

Fight Night: D

Mat Mania: D-

Title Match: F

 

Not the fighting system of choice. However, Atari stepped up it's martial arts and fighting game library with the Jaguar.

Basketbrawl is awesome. Kung Fu master is good, a little uneven at times, but fun. Double Dragon is good also.

Since it's a 7800, you can always play Froggo's 2600 version of Karate.

Hi ya,

 

I forgot about Fight Night! Also very nice one on one fighting (boxing) game. Detailed cartoon style characters and two player simultanous. The computer players even do some special moves what I never found out for the player.
