Turttle_Alain #1 Posted June 11, 2007 Hi, I currently try to use a NTSC supercharger on a french PAL VCS 2600. That don't work and I try to understand why. Perhaps it's a hardware problem (I never use the supercharger before). Perhaps it's a synchro problem. If It's a synchro problem, perhaps it's possible to modify the wav to adjust and correct the problem. (I have a dream... ) If you know where to find the rom of the supercharger. That can help me to understand the synchronisation timing. or If someone have an idea ? or If someone sell a PAL supercharger Thanks you Alain
Thomas Jentzsch #2 Posted June 11, 2007 What exactly doesn't work? Yes, the loading screen may show wrong colors and roll, but loading games should work no matter what TV system combination you use.
Turttle_Alain #3 Posted June 11, 2007 You are right, I see the star field (in black & white) So, it seem to be a hardware problem... (I must learn electronic now ) Thanks
Nukey Shay #4 Posted June 11, 2007 I don't know if this is what you meant, but running a program that uses an odd number of scanlines shouldn't display colour in PAL. There's a number of NTSC games that didn't use an even number of scanlines (for example, the "Combat" file uses 263). So it might be the program itself if you dont see colour. Turttle_Alain #5 Posted June 11, 2007 (edited) That's ok for color... But I wonder if the speed différence between PAL and NTSC can kill the synchronisation between the supercharger and the wav (the frame are 20% slower in PAL) . The Supercharger file format seem to have "chunck" and I wonder if the padding time inserted in the wav between those chunck isn't too short in pal. Is someone can confirm it's possible to load a program with a NTSC Supercharger on Pal VCS ? Edited June 11, 2007 by Turttle_Alain
+SpiceWare #6 Posted June 11, 2007 It'll load either games w/out any problem - I've loaded PAL games on my NTSC system in the past. What you probably need to do is adjust the volume on your tape player/cd/whatever your game is on.
Turttle_Alain #7 Posted June 11, 2007 The problem isn't load an NTSC game on a PAL VCS The problem is load anything on a PAL VCS with a NTSC Starpath Cartidge. (I think, I'll buy a NTSC VCS to test )
