A Sprite #1 Posted June 14, 2007 (edited) If you could pick just one soundtrack to represent a videogame system you've owned to someone who had never played it before, which ones would do the trick? My picks: 2600: Pitfall 2 - I have no idea why it keeps me going instead of driving me insane on the 73rd loop, but this ranks up there with "Eye of the Tiger". Arcade/MAME: Reactor. Scary: Despite the difficult lyrics (there are none) I've sung it out loud to nongamers. Scarier: They liked it. NES: The Magic of Scheherazade - I cried. I won't tell you when. Gameboy: Samurai Shodown - Better than the original...sometimes. Genesis: Streets of Rage - You already know why. Sega CD - Lunar - sometimes you don't want subtle... Snes: Earthbound - Okay, now I get Jazz. N64: Majora's Mask - it made me turn off the system and go outside. In a good way... 2600Lives #2 Posted June 14, 2007 Holy crap, someone else who liked the music in Magic of Scheherezade? I thought I was the only one. Damn fine game, too. Hmmm. Tough call here. There's so much too choose from. If I had to choose a favorite, though, it'd probably have to be a tie between the NES Contra and the original Metal Gear. Both of those soundtracks are burned into mah brain.
