Fixing a mushy Wico fier button

So I tried using my Wico stick with Strat-O-Gems recently and the fire button is really bad, you press it and the gems rotate positions twice sometimes. Can this be "fixed"

 

I got it from Best. Do they fix stuff like this or should I just crack it open and do it myself?

They're always a bit mushy on these sticks as they use a leaf type switch. Just open her up and and clean the contacts (made of copper which can tarnish) on the switch with alcohol. You can also gently bend the switch apart a bit to get better spring response if its sticking like you said.
