Gabriel #26 Posted June 17, 2007 We've all forgotten about Karate for the 2600, you know one of the worst games EVER. Nah. It's just that it can't be considered a fighting game. Any fighting which took place in that game was entirely coincidental and ineffective.
Gentlegamer #27 Posted June 17, 2007 I nominate Fighting Street, for the PC Engine CD. It's a crappy port of the crappy Street Fighter. As has been noted, it's amazing how the superb Street Fighter II grew from this first game and went on to establish a whole new genre.
2600Lives #28 Posted July 12, 2007 Hate to necro a topic, but does anybody remember playing the first Street Fighter with those crazy ass punching pad controllers? What move Ryu did was determined by how hard you banged your fist on the pad. I've only played it a handful of times, and only once did that involve a machine that was fully functional (those pads break down easy). If you thought the fireball and hurricane kick were hard to do with buttons, you ain't seen NOTHIN' till you try timing it while punching some dumbass plastic pad. Yeah, my local mall arcade used to have it. I played it a handful of times and never really liked it...amazing that such a good series ended up springing from it. It's also on Capcom Classics vol. 2, but it's not as hilarious when you don't have to punch stuff...then it's just kind of sad.

Brian R. #31 Posted July 12, 2007 (edited) Funny how any top ten list with a Jaguar game on it goes beyond the game itself to attack the Jaguar too. You're just so sensitive about your Jaggy! Fight for Life should be on that list. Edited July 12, 2007 by Brian R.
