Call of Juarez

Anybody else playing this game? This will be the first real game I've played thru on the 360, so far so good. Its yet another six-shooter FPS, I'd been meaning to play Red Dead and Darkwatch but somehow never got around to them. I started on monday and its slow going, the game is not forgiving and its quite stingy with the firepower. I kind of respect a game being tough to keep things a little more real but I felt shamed to have to consult a walk-thru to make it past one of the first levels. I could see myself screaming at the game and walking away in defeat, its that frusterating at points but the story is engaging and it makes you feel like theres something good just ahead if only you can hang in there. The plotline alternates between a bastard half Indian and a "terrible vengence" psycho preacher! Its full of Deadwood style cussing and dirty dealing. I'd be curious to hear what other people think of the game, it seems like a fairly fresh take on the ol' FPS genre to me.

It doesn't last long. I beat the story in 6 days without a walk through. There weren't any available when I started playing it, but I asked for tips a few times on Gamefaqs. I found some of the platforming and whipping stuff incredibly aggravating, but overall I enjoyed the game. You do get 3 bonus missions after you beat story mode which are pretty cool and add to it a little bit. You'll be a different character all together and he plays like Reverend Ray instead of Billy which is a good thing. Plus this is a good game to replay to chase down some achievements if you are into them at all. I think were are all at least a little bit.

I plan on getting this game eventually.

After playing through GUN recently, I realized how great a western themed FPS could be.

If it's anything like GUN, I'm there!!
