Converting Composite to SVGA

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of a device that will allow you to run composite video into a PC monitor? I know this can be done by running it through the computer, but I just want a dedicated box that has a composite and/or S-Video input and SVGA out.

There may be a box that does exactly what you seek

it is called the VGA box

made by Innovation and sold generally in EB stores.

It is in a green box and usually located in the

XBOX section.

The cost is $79.

I am unsure of SVGA, but I can ascertain that it will

do what you wish for composite/S-VIDEO

and allow you to play

your modern consoles on a VGA PC monitor or even your laptop display

or so the box says

Is it worth it and does it really work?

That is a question you must research some more

for I do not own the device

At worst, you can purchase it and bring it back if it does not

do what you expect.

Check the link I have provided

for your browsing pleasure

I found several more:

That's really cool.  It'd be nice to be able to hook up my NES, VCR and some other stuff to my computer monitor.  It's bigger and has a LOT better picture than the TVs in my room.

This appears to be good news

for I have been intrigued by these devices

face it, the ability to play XBOX on my 15" Thinkpad display

is definitely appealing especially in light of an XBOX to XBOX lan

for HALO deathmatches. No more lugging heavy TV's!

I may stop by EB

and see if they still have these devices

If I buy one, I will test it out thoroughly

and report back any quirks or anomalies.
