Atarimania75 #2 Posted June 23, 2007 (edited) Pepperoni is always my first choice when ordering Pizza. Taco pizza is usually my 2nd choice. Just wondering how many beers it took you to start taking the photos! We have a lot of good pizza places around this area thankfully......we have a type of pizza called Old Forge style .....so Old Forge is like the pizza capital around here. I have too many favorites but I will say that there is a place called Andy's here that makes the best taco pizza i have had yet. Oh also there is a bar called Duke's that makes the best Steak & Cheese Pizza around, hmmmmmm i guess i will say Andy's is my favoirte they make great pepperoni pizza as well. Nothing like some nice greasy melting pepperoni on top of a piece of pizza. Northeast Pa is a great place for pizza. Boy did i crave a good pizza when i was living up in Buffalo .......they just don't know how to make a good pizza there......they were all about Hot Wings. Mine is a place called Fast Eddies here in Minneapolis, they have a double Pepperoni that is AWESOME, I order at least one a week. Mine's "Louie & Ernies Pizzeria" in the Bronx. There made by Italians and Italians ONLY. They make a Sausage Pie that is FAR-OUT in which they put raw sausage on the pie (to cook) instead of re-heating it. They also have "The Godfather Pizza Pie" (Which is the works) and at $22 clams, its well worth it.. P.S.: F--k Chicago, with there Deep Dish!!! Anthony... 2600Lives #5 Posted June 23, 2007 'Round here, we have mostly chains, but there's a few good little places, too. The top of my list is a new brick oven place that just opened a few months ago called Zarino's. Damn good pie, and cheap, too. You can get their Lunch Special, which is a 10' small one topping with a drink for 6.50 tax and all. Another good place is Savastano's, but it's a 20 minute drive (no big deal, really, just kinda inconvenient). Chicago style MEGA deep dish. Omg, I've never eaten anything like it. I'm a monster eater, can put away one of those Pizza Hut Big New Yorkers, with an entire 2 liter and room for dessert easily, BUT, that Savastano's...2 slices and I'm totally stuffed. 25 bucks for a large, but worth it. Gimme a good pie and a Heineken and I'm set, man!
MetalSlime23 #6 Posted June 23, 2007 There's a deep dish pizza place around here called Panhandler's pizza. The dough is so freaking good, and I don't know why! It's about 40 miles way in a neighboring city, so I eat there if I happen to be in town. Pizza and video games go together like peanutbutter and jelly. RIVER #7 Posted June 23, 2007 Anyone remember the square pizza's you got in school back in the late 70's & arly 80's? MMM mmm good!! Besides that the best pizza in town is at VINO's Brewpub in little rock. Awesome pizza, and they brew all their own beer. I dont drink anymore and i never was a big beer drinker, (i was a hard liquor drinker) but if i did like beer and still drank i would be all over their beer, i hear its the best around. Here is the link to their web site, some of you might like to check it out. http://www.vinosbrewpub.com/
edweird13 #8 Posted June 23, 2007 Pizza by Stout has a good pie but they have a great variety of beers also with makes it even better.
Quadhorn #9 Posted June 23, 2007 Where I used to live in the north, there was a pub called the Wardels Bridge Inn (or something like that). It was a fair way out of town, but had some of the best beer on tap (Castle Eden; couldn't find it anywhere else at the time) and did some fantastic pizza. They piled the cheese up high and cooked it on large metal trays. The cheese would come off the edge and start frying around the edge. Mmmm, fried cheese... Since then, there's been no place remotely as good. I do a decent pizza myself (make the dough myself, large rectangular things) but the current house won't have a kitchen until I get around to fitting it. Longhorn Engineer #10 Posted June 23, 2007 mmm. Conan's Pizza at 29th and Guadalupe makes THE BEST deep dish pizza I have ever had. My favorite pizza there is the Deep Dish Savage with wheat crust. The Savage is much like a supreme except more extreme! They also own a NeoGeo Cab and serve Shiner to boot.
shadow460 #11 Posted June 23, 2007 I'm deprived. I don't know of any good indie pizza joints around here anymore. The only one I can think of is closed now. It was called The Big Cheese pizza, and located on Harrison Avenue in Shawnee, Oklahoma. They had a game room in the front, and a big screen TV set up where the entire dining room could see it. They also had a jukebox in the place. I don't think they were open more than a year or two, but they sure were good. When I want pizza, it's chain pizza nowdays. Either its Sbarro for thin and crispy, Cici's for something cheap, or Pizza Hut for any other time except Friday or Saturday evening. On a weekend evening, it's Incredible Pizza Company. I've really got to go back there. Usually I wind up eating Pizza Hut's lunch buffet roughly once every other Sunday.
Dan Iacovelli #12 Posted June 23, 2007 if you like pizza, you should try going to CICI's Pizza Buffet. http://www.cicispizza.com I mean for 5.49(pizza buffet) + 1.42(for all you can drink pop) you can't go wrong. and you can do a special order just for your table (we usally go silician deep dish pepperoni)
maibock #13 Posted June 23, 2007 I'm very disappointed with that picture there Crazy Climber.. Everyone knows that when you take a picture of pizza, you snap the shot only after a few slices are gone, to give it the Pac-man effect. Especially on a video game sight.. Mark III #14 Posted June 23, 2007 When I used to live in a horrible backwater of a town called Bon Accord its one saving grace was Chelsea's Pub which made incredible pizza. Never had to order extra cheese or toppings, it always came loaded.

2600Lives #16 Posted June 23, 2007 Actually, Shadow, Big Cheese is a chain, I believe. There used to be a couple here in Tulsa years ago, but I do remember them having some kick ass pie there. I agree that CiCi's is a great bargain. Lots of people dump on it, but it's not bad pizza at all. I really like their sauce, as it's not sweet at all, and I LOVE those brownies they serve on the buffet line.
Fighter17 #17 Posted June 23, 2007 There's one place which actually serves Brooklyn pizza (20 inches for large, the way it should be). I'm from Brooklyn and just about all Pizza places here in Florida serve their pizzas small. A large is 16 inches in Florida, but in New York an large is 20 inches. In Floirda they use ground water for the dough, but in New York they use rainwater. You're not an true pizza eater if you haven't try true Brooklyn pizza in Brooklyn (or in other sections of NYC, like Queens). I'm so picky when it comes to pizza. (I'm thinking of doing a pre-VGS meeting thing at cici's next year can't say for sure though)
Fighter17 #19 Posted June 24, 2007 (edited) I do have some Cici's near by, I should go there some other time. If you eat more of the dessert than the main food then there's something wrong with you. And time to pick-on Crazy Climber a little bit: Those pizza slices in the picture are mini-slices. True Brooklyn pizza slices are so big that you MUST fold them to eat it! Sorry Crazy Climber but those pizza slices makes you look soft. Edited June 24, 2007 by Fighter17
