Memory card questions - Neo Geo...

Recommended Posts

Well, I got a memory card for my Neo-Geo AES, and I have a couple of questions for any of you that have one too. First, it seems you have to insert it very firmly for it to register - is this normal? Also, I read in the documentation that you should not leave the memory card inserted when not playing.... Anyone know why? Since it's kind of a pain to get it to read, I hate having to constantly take it out and in.

Thanks for any help.

Hey,

My card fits snugly, but doesn't require a great deal of force to insert/remove.

I leave my card in all the time, and haven't had any problems, but I suppose the argument is that if a rogue shock/spike hit the system, it'd probably blank the card.

Hope this helps, I'm sure you cna find super detailed posts on the neo-geo.com forums.

Ah.... Thanks Raindog, that does help! I was concerned that the battery may wear out if it's left in - apparently not. Appreciate the advice - I will check Neo-Geo forums as well.

Mine fits in pretty tight, but it gives a click when you get it in all the way, so don't force it any more than that. I've left mine in the system for the last year or so without any problems, so not sure what the instructions are complaining about.
