BSA Starfire #1 Posted June 30, 2007 Hi all, just wondered if there are any atari games with dino's in them? Have never come across any and this seems a real oversight on developers part. Only one I can think of loosley is Rampage but that was really a godzilla type monster right?.

Crazy Climber #5 Posted June 30, 2007 I think the Compumate had a program for it with Dinosaur's but I beleive it was more of an educational thing and not really a game.
A.J. Franzman #6 Posted June 30, 2007 Adventure has "dragons" Funny you should mention that. I saw an educational TV show once, which mentioned that in Chinese, the words for "dragon" and "dinosaur" are the same. One theory has it that the origin of the myth of dragons is due to ancient discoveries of dinosaur bones!

Tempest I had always thought that they were dragons! Looking at them again you could be right Are the monsters on Rock 'n Rope dinosaurs? I checked the manual on AtariAge and indeed they are dinasours. It even says so. See, Atari even had dinasaurs A LEGENDARY QUEST Is the Golden Roc merely a myth? Or does it really exist? Find out in Coleco's ROC N' ROPE, a game of skill and speed. In your quest for the Golden Roc, you'll travel through a prehistoric landscape made up of hazardous ledges and treacherous cliffs. Scale the heights with your trusty rope and use your powerful flashlight to daze the lumbering dinosaurs and the swift footed cavemen. Fortunately, the Golden Roc has left a trail of magical eggs. Gather them as you go and use their powers to make the dinosaurs and cavemen disappear. But watch your step! If you slip while on the edge of a cliff, you'll plummet to the depths below! The treasures of the Golden Roc are yours when you reach the summit. But you must journey on. The fabled bird awaits you at the top of another perilous climb! homerwannabee #13 Posted July 1, 2007 (edited) how about the dinosaur in crash dive? I checked the manual on this one and they call it a sea monster instead of a dinasaur. Scoring: * Plane - 300 * Helicopter - 100 * Bird - 0 * Boat - 50 * Sting Ray - 20 * Shark - 100 * Angler Fish - 200 * Squid - 100 * Lobster - 25 * Sea Monster - 1 (for stunning) * Mines - Indestructible So far the 2 games that have aknowledged Dinasaurs in their manuals are Joust and Roc'N"Rope Edited July 1, 2007 by homerwannabee

Impaler_26 #17 Posted July 2, 2007 One theory has it that the origin of the myth of dragons is due to ancient discoveries of dinosaur bones! Yep, i saw a show mentioning something like that ages ago so i guess games with "dragons" would also count. In that case we shouldn't forget Xonox's Sir Lancelot.
