Recommended Posts

I've had really bad luck this past year with my ST's.

First my megaSTE's floppy and keyboard die's... still havn't fixed it....I might sell it as-is.

now my 1040f stopped working.... I think it might be the floppy in that too. not sure.

well anyways... check out these pic's.... what do ya think?

I'm pretty upset about this... I'm almost ready to sell it all away and just use Steem...

please help.... lift my spirits...

Do the universal 4" drop on it and see if it helps, or the "Atari twist" Better option open it up and reseat all socketted chips.

I had that happen to me a few times and that fixed it.

It worked! i think..... autobooting games seem OK.

But if I put in a disk that boots to gem desktop and then run a program i sometimes get bombs after the progam

has run a few min's.....

some programs like STspeech bomb out and return to the desktop right away....

so things are a little bit better.. thanks again....

It seems you still have a bad connection. Keep trying. This is very common on these Atari's.

Hi,

One of the things that can help is removing the quad pin chips and using a contact cleaner pen on them and the sockets. It can help regular chips too.

Always use antistatic precautions.
