Crazy Climber #1 Posted July 2, 2007 Hello everyone I am getting bored with my Capcom Bowling and I don't really like how it looks next to my other machines so I think I will have room for one more game soon. There is a nice Crazy Climber in my area (also happens to be one of my favorite games) with an asking price of $1000 http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/tag/344341283.html It looks pretty clean and I have never seen one this nice for sale. I have never seen one for sale period in my area though. I think $1,000 seems a little high but I really don't know what it's worth. I don't want to insult them but I was thinking more in the $600 range would be fair. What do you guys think? Thanks man
Atari5200 #2 Posted July 2, 2007 http://www.klov.com/ may help you if you post on the message boards, there is one on ebay for $1,200 I saw on there so $1,000 may not be as high as you may think. Though the game is not overly rare, it's probably one of those more saught after games which demands a higher price point.
djpubba #3 Posted July 2, 2007 imo, the Nichibutsu versions are more desirable and valueable than the Taito versions. For reference: http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=thumbs&a...eodb&id=240 Taito http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=thumbs&a...eodb&id=241 Nichibutsu I've never seen a black Nichibutsu cabinet. They're all white in real life, I think. http://www.arcadecollecting.com/crazy/ccartworked.jpg There's also a smaller version of the Nichibutsu cab with a plain black control panel. These are worth somewhere between the two, imo. http://www.arcadecollecting.com/pics/crazymini.jpg
Cassidy Nolen #4 Posted July 3, 2007 Hey CC, Hunt around on Rec.games.video.arcade.marketplace and search. I think they were in the 7-850 range a few years ago. The front on that one is not flawless and I don't know how much repro overlay stuff is being made for that one....worth investigating. 1K seems strong, but if its clean, does not need a monitor or joystick work, etc. might not be out of the question. You might be amazed what 700 cash in someones face will do. If they have it out there, most likely they are ready to move it. Cash in hand is a POWERFUL motivator Cheers, C
mr.bill #5 Posted July 4, 2007 (edited) CC is one of my favorite games. I used to own the Nichibutsu full size, Nichibutsu mini, Nichibutsu cocktail and the taito upright. My favorite is the taitio as thats the one I played as a kid. The game has the original white joysticks and the panel does not look too worn, so thats a major plus. It has its cash box door which is also a plus(easy to loose). Monitor is either very burnt or weak by that pic. New monitor is going to cost you $200. Check the joysticks. The orignals can be very sloppy. I think the frames are welded to the panel, so they are a pain to replace (plus you won't find white ones) That taito cabinet has painted monitor glass artwork. Its very easy for it to flake off. Check it... If the cabinet has no water damage(sides swelling) and the monitor is nice, I think $1k is reasonable to high. More than once I have neverheard back from people so I assume they have sold it but you think they would pull the ad then I would love to have this game, one of my favorites and they look pretty cool. I am caught up on bills as well so....
DreamTR #7 Posted July 4, 2007 I can't register on KLOV, do you have to pay a membership fee or something from some other site?

SRGilbert #9 Posted July 6, 2007 I would love to have this game, one of my favorites... No, really? I never would have guessed!
Crazy Climber #10 Posted July 7, 2007 I would love to have this game, one of my favorites... No, really? I never would have guessed! LOL I guess my handle does kind of give that away doesn't it. The dual joystick control was just soooo cool though, was first time I ever played anything like it. I played Crazy Climber before I had any clue what Robotron was by the way, for some reason my area never had a Robotron. When I played CC for the first time it was already pretty dated as far as graphics but the gameplay was just so cool I kept coming back, even though I easily could have blown my quarters on Spy Hunter or Double Dragon, etc... which were very popular games at the time. Even the nice cockpit After Burner and Outrun couldn't keep me away from Crazy Climber for that long. It was a sad day when it was gone, replaced by a Golden Axe I believe or maybe it was a Rampage machine....can't quite remember.

Hey, CC is probably the main reason I bought an X-Arcade dual joystick! You really can get a workout!
