Gunstar #1 Posted July 4, 2007 Has anyone made an encryption bypass CD, or are the B&C Bypass cartridge, Protector: S.E. and Battlesphere Gold carts still the only way to load unencrypted CD's?
ovalbugmann #2 Posted July 4, 2007 Yeah, I don't think anyone has made a encryption bypass CD. It probably could be done but, it would require the cdstop & cdopen registers? to be turned on I think. I'm sure these people would know this answer: Matthias, Belboz, Glenn, Gorf, Starcat.
Chaos89-dot-com #3 Posted July 30, 2007 Replacing the eprom inside the JagCD unit with the CDbiosCRACK will solve your problem. That is what I did to mine. Luckily, my bios rom was already socketed from factory. So it was just a simple swap. And it works great I must say. Didn't need to modify the Jag console. Just the CD unit. Just the CD unit. where can I get the CDbiosCRACK rom/chip at? I have no way of burning my own eeproms... I take it that encrypted CD's will still work fine too? Though the original hope was that it WAS available on a CD version, where I can download the image and burn it for free, instead of having to pay for a bypass-cart or Protector:S.E., etc. If getting the replacement rom chip is cheaper than the bypass-cart (about $40), then that's a bonus, but if not, then I might as well go with the bypass cart...the only other possible advantage I can see would be the ability to use a memorytrack cart with the bios replacement, for example, I know the Soul Star demo has a save option, but it can't work with a bypass cart... Yep, I booted an encrypted cd(Blue Angels) and it played just fine. E-mail me at: [email protected] and I will hook you up.
