Rockin' Kat #1 Posted July 10, 2002 Ugh... I had completeley forgoten about these cartridges... I forgot that I hadn't finished cleaning all those cartridges I bought from a friend of mine... I just made a database of my games and then I remembered that little NES storage box with 8 games which I had gotten fed up with trying to clean the sticker glue and other dirt off and went to bed so many months ago... So, how do you clean cartrides that have sticker goo and such on them? I think I remember something about Goo Gone or some thing like that... How efective is it? I really don't like scraping off this stupid silver video rental sticker crud that says "void void void" on it after you peel the sticker off..it's a real pain. Rockin' Kat #2 Posted July 10, 2002 One last thing: I usually use Alcohol to clean things off..I've turned old video monitors three shades of grey lighter with it before...and cleaned contacts on cartridges with it before but this video rental store sticker crap is a real pain. Room 34 #3 Posted July 10, 2002 Goo Gone is GREAT but it CAN sometimes remove things you don't want it to remove, so whenever you try it on something new, it's best to just use a little at first and make sure it isn't damaging anything before you start saturating labels with it. bradjewell #4 Posted July 10, 2002 I believe I read that someone told to use toothpaste to remove stickers from cartridges and that many times it wont even harm teh sticker underneath as long as you don't get it on anything you don't want taken off. You can let it soak on the sticker you want removed. brad
NE146 #5 Posted July 10, 2002 Yes I often have problems with sticky cartridges but I find a kleenex works great to wipe them off.

Rockin' Kat #7 Posted July 11, 2002 So, where can I find Goo Gone?
NE146 #8 Posted July 11, 2002 check your local drugstores, walmarts, hardware stores. A lot of places carry it. Just call them up and ask.
