Turok : A must get game or just another tired franchise?

I've always been a fan of this series, I even enjoyed the last Turok game that everyone else seemed to despise.

Granted it didn't blow me away like the first one did, but I didn't think it was near as bad as some folks were making it out to be.

That said....

The new Turok is looking like a blow your socks off kinda game...check out the latest vid:

The graphics look amazing but I don't think I'd be into that "cutaway" action when Turok makes a kill. Great models and textures though.

Well considering that this is out of the hands of ACKlame. It may turn out pretty ok. That being said Iguana was one of the better parts of aklkaim and the Turok series were not too bad. Maybe a little too much focus on graphics and a series lack of dinosaurs.

I loved the franchise. I didn't get a chance to play S.O.O. which is the only one I haven't played. All the other ones, including Evolution, I loved especially Rage Wars. I think the new Turok game is a lot smarter in comparison with all the others. The AI seems amazing and I love how, from what I read, you can shoot dinosaur eggs and the mother will go after the two baddies, if she sees them first, instead of running and gunning. Definitely seems like a thinking man's game.

I forgot to mention the comics. From what little I read, I really like them.

I liked Turok Rage War. This is good for the company. Looks like they will make me forget about the last Turok. I still think that this franchise can be saved. We at least need to have one dinosaur shooter around

I got interested in the Turok franchise from the comic books, so to me this game seems to lose a lot of what made the original Turok interesting. Sure it has dinosaurs, but its lost the other aspect that defined Turok to me, the out of his time Native American hero. The game still looks good, but I'd rather they just made a new franchise.

When in FP mode the game looks a lot like Farcry with Dinos.
