How many 2600's do you own?

Recommended Posts

How many of you own more than one 2600? Which ones are they. Some may find it strange to have multiples of the same unit, but you can't have too much of a good thing right?

i have........

3 4 switchers, one which is in original box

1 heavy sixer sears model

and 1 light sixer sears model.

for a total of 5

At one point I had so many it made me sick and I started giving them away. Every auction that I needed a rare cart from seemed to have a unit as well. I seriously considered asking sellers to keep the units, but was afraid somehow I wouldn't get anything at all in the mail. I had stacks of untested units and I was finally like f*ck I don't even have time to sell this shit and started giving them away at work. After moving and a big purge of my collection I think I have about eight right now.

3 light sixers

3 four switch woody's

1 Junior

1 Pirate unit

Oh and a couple of 7800's.

Omegamatrix, this could just as easily be my story as well. Except last week I went into storage and found a long forgotten bin with five consoles in it(3 light sixes, 1 four switch woody, 1 black "vader"). Same thing, these were all the result of having to buy complete systems to get the games. If they are still around at the next cgcc.ca swap meet in Ontario here, they will be on the "for free" table :)

I currently have a Sears Heavy Sixer (Sunnyvale) and an Atari Heavy Sixer (Sunnyvale.) After much debate with myself, I've decided that the Sears heavy sixer will be going up for auction in the next week or so, along with a bunch of controllers and about 40 games. I'll post a link in the Marketplace when it goes up. :)

Please send everyone my greetings if anyone recongizes me there. I have always wanted to go to one of these but will be several provinces to the west. I used to find boxes of joysticks in my closet all the time and just when I thought I found them all out pops another box.

I finally took the cartridge port off of one of my woodys and put it on my 7800 dirty dumper. Made it incompatible with all 7800 games, but I don't own any 7800 games anyhow. The end result is all my 2600 carts fit in with ease for dumping. I tried making an extension cart for my 7800 and couldn't get it working. This just seemed easier for what I use it for and least the carts don't look so funny sticking up so high. Tigervision games are no problem now!

Update in my post: I just opened the one in box that i thought was my third 4 switch woody turned out to be a 6 switch light which was nice to find out. I had packed it quite awhile back and forgotten what was in there. I thought it was a 4. So what i have is one atari light 6, 2 atari 4's, one sears heavy 6, and one sears light 6.

I think I have 5 4-switch woodies right now, none of them hooked up, not even sure if they all work at the moment! (I'm using a 7800 these days for 2600 gaming.)

Wow Atari Pitbull, that's a serious boxed 2600 collection!

4 Junior's (only 2 of them work icon_sad.gif), never had another model.

I've never (crosses fingers) had an Atari unit that didn't work (but several bad AC adapters)

Oh geez...

My heavy sixer got stolen... so did my complete in box for promotional use only atari...

How the heck did you get your Ataris snagged?

My old roommates had too many bad friends.

What made me mad the most is that the pool stick Atari Pitbull sold me disappeared too, along with my other two sticks :(

Along with more stuff, like a boxed complete super famicom that was given to me by a japanese translator that I worked with when I was in japan.
