Segataritensoftii #1 Posted July 7, 2007 This is a sort of sequel to my previous topic, "Ever thought a certain game or system existed but then found out it didn't?". This time, It's about games you dreamed existed, which is basically the same thing. One of my dreams about a game existing was about a version of Jumping Flash where you could build your own levels. For some odd reason, you could only play the levels you built as a Muu-Muu. On the subject of dreams, I once had one where I was flying a rather flimsy aircraft over a huge carnival. I also remember having a lot of fun while doing it. I did quite a bit of swooping. Unfortunately, the emotional experience of it was lost when I woke up. Kinda odd, really Anyone else have anything to share from the depths of their subconscious mind that would be video game related?

bretthorror #11 Posted July 8, 2007 I know it's not a game, but it is in my mind and I dunno where it came from... When I was about 7 years old, I watched a movie called Ghost Story. It scared the hell out of me. I never saw it again until I was 21. For as long as I can remember I would have sworn on my life that the movie ended with the ghost screaming and yelling, trapped in this house. It ends NOTHING like this! I am unsure where the visual imagery came from (maybe a nightmare I had regarding the movie somewhere along the line?), but as stated, I would have sworn this ending as fact. It's weird. Paranoid #12 Posted July 8, 2007 Flying dreams are supposed to deal with repressed sexual desire, according to some famous head-shrink or another. Just so you know, before you post your intimate dreams about flimsy flying devices and carnivals on public forums, in the future. I've mentioned this several times, I *guess* it was a dream. I was in a Sears, in the video game area, and they had a display of an elaborate fantasy themed board game that worked in conjunction with a cartridge and unknown video game console. I've always wanted to believe this was a real event, but I am now pretty certain it was a dream. This was from the era when Sears would have a bunch of gray industrial shelves with pegs, and plastic laminated cards on the pegs for the games. You would take the plastic card to the counter and they would produce the actual box from the cage for you. I also want to believe this game was for the TG-16. But again, I'm pretty sure it was a dream. The next thing I knew, I was giving a presentation in my underwear.
Pixelboy #13 Posted July 8, 2007 (edited) Some dreams off the top of my head: A proper sequel to H.E.R.O. : I'd say it's one of life's great mysteries why Activision hasn't yet capitalized on that property. It's still theirs, isn't it? Can you imagine a H.E.R.O. game in full 3D, not just in underground mines but in other dangerous situations as well, like a sinking cruise ship, an active volcano, a large flood, a terrorist attack in a major city? There a lots of emergency situations where a heli-pack would come in handy, not just for rescuing people, but to perform other tasks as well. They could even include humorous bonus levels like tree-trimming. A remake of Metroid II (the GB game) : Done in the same style as Metroid Zero Mission, with a few new areas to explore in addition to the ones from the original game. A remake of Zelda II (the NES game) : Done in the style of the "Link's Awakening" and "Oracle" games, with a more fleshed out storyline. A game like this would have been perfect on the Game Boy Color. Edited July 8, 2007 by Pixelboy
JimmydelaKopin #14 Posted July 8, 2007 Paranoid, are you sure it wasn't Quest for the Rings for the Odyssey2? As for me, my dreams seem to always involve mazes of some sort. A maze of mall stores, one of hallways, one even of glass-enclosed halls over the surface of a lake. I'm not even going to mention the nightmares...though the only videogame-related detail involves a videogame console with controllers with exposed metal on them. When the videogame was turned on (all this in the dream, mind you), a person appears on the TV screen flipping a knife switch. When the switch is flipped, the holder of the controller was electrocuted. My dream game, as always, is a Twisted Metal compilation.
+atari2600land #15 Posted July 8, 2007 Last night, I had a dream that there were a bunch of unknown Atari 2600 games at Value Village, but some of them were $100 or more because they were so rare. You'd think they'd sell a Quadrun for $3 not knowing how rare that was, but in this dream, they were pretty knowledgable about how rare the games they had were. Also, I've had a couple of dreams recently where I've made up a video game store that doesn't exist that sells Atari 2600 games.
Paranoid #16 Posted July 9, 2007 If they were selling a Quadrun for $100, they weren't THAT knowledgable about how valuable a rare video game is. Jimmy... no, I'm not sure. It doesn't seem like it was an 02 game, but maybe it was. It was so real, so clear and distinct (pun intended), that yeah, maybe it was that title. I''ve got to look into it, at the very least. Maybe I need to add a magnvox to my collection. It just doesn't seem like the 02 had enough power for what I remember, from my dream. But I could be wrong. And your nightmares are tame. +atari2600land #17 Posted July 9, 2007 Quadrun wasn't one of the games they were selling. I was just using that as an example. The games they were selling were ones I've never heard of. That, and they weren't CIB. I probably dreamed that because I looked at this thread before going to sleep the night I dreamed it. I have really strange dreams. Classic Pac #18 Posted July 9, 2007 Call this one ironic I just got my lastest issue of EGM in the mail yesterday and in there is an article called "Where are the sequels?" I won't go into detail of what they said but here is there list of sequels they like to see. Bionic Commando 2 Chrono Trigger 3 Jumping Flash 3 Kid Icarius 2 The Lost Vikings 3 Shenmue 3 Skies of Arcadia 2 Soul Blazer 5 Streets of Rage 4 Witches and Warriors 4 I do agree what they said about Streets of Rage, about it being forgotten. But still you can't say 3 and 4 weren't the best of the entire series, and I for one would love to see a sequel.
Vic George 2K3 #19 Posted July 9, 2007 One particular game would be an upgraded Zelda & Zelda 2 combo game cartridge for the Super NES. As great as those games were on the original NES, it was unfortunate that, besides Zelda BS in Japan, Nintendo chose not to have a "Zelda All-Stars" of sorts for the Super NES. Foxsolo2000 #20 Posted July 9, 2007 I always dreamed of Go Go Home Monster, a dream that one day may become reality. Segataritensoftii #21 Posted August 17, 2007 Just last night I had a dream that there was a 3D Legend of Zelda game for Game Boy Color. I remember there being 2 types of graphics modes: a Voxel mode that looked just like the N64 version, and a polygon mode that looked like Bubsy 3D without the textures. They'll ruin it in 3D by just making a FPS but the guy has a helipack to get around.
